  1. Nice video! Youtube will pretty much always recognize the body mounted gopro's as shaky, I always avoid youtube "correcting" my videos.
  2. Great work with the gopro, those things are awesome.
  3. Interesting Terry, PM me some more details, did they have that two tone truck? I had a great time on this float, the first half of it was pretty red hot fishing. The 2nd half was slow, it just didn't look like great small mouth water, It was beautiful though. I brought around 10 fish to hand with one that might have hit 17", the rest were smaller but very aggressive. I also lost 3. Threw streamers on the fly all day, belly scratchers and clousers worked. The fish were taking them off the banks. I'll post up some pictures tonight, thanks for organizing Terry! On a side note we didn't come across a whole lot of garbage with the exception of one bank that was full of cans, key word WAS!
  4. I've seen him posting on Windy City Fishing regularly. It's a good forum overall.
  5. So that's what happens when the kids leave the nest, you replace them with fuzzy children? I can't believe you Terry, I finally get a day to fish the Kishwaukee and you want me to clean it up first? See you at the Cafe.
  6. I haven't fished the pursuit (its more narrow than the frontier), but I have a Nucanoe Frontier and it's freaky stable, you get a unobstructed deck so you're not snagging on stuff as well. I think its just a great all around boat and could go on and on about it. I know a handful of guys who fly fish and love their nucanoes. If you want to see them in action check out Ripples, and a year on the Kish from my channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOTsrpncUR6vr913-L-B_gA
  7. Have you fished from a kayak before? If not you really need to get out and demo one since stability is very subjective. The big rig may afford you more comfort on the water as long as you're willing to deal with hauling it around. A 100lb almost 14 foot long yak will not be fun to move, especially solo. Rocktown Adventures does a lot of demoing for Jackson stuff, and there are a few other good options if you're open to other brands.
  8. If its too cold to wet wade I'm in waders, If not I'm wet wading. Never had an issue with waders in a kayak and and I don't believe them to be a drowning hazard, especially if you're wearing a belt. Here is perfect demonstration. I also find mine to be very comfortable but that comes down to preference. I personally stick with breathable stockingfoots that have enough space for me to move.
  9. I wouldn't worry Terry. I don't see many people dropping 6k on a solo "kayak" that you can't lift solo. Looks cool though
  10. I tend to target large fish and throw large flies to do so, 9ft fast action 6w or 9ft medium fast 8w at the moment. I would be happy to downsize if I was on a creek or smaller water.
  11. Thanks for the heads up, I bought a pair of Cabelas Blue River waders over 5 years ago and they are still going strong somehow. I avoid waders whenever possible but they've seen some miles.
  12. Good looking fly for sure.
  13. Had a great time Saturday. Really nice being able to put faces to the posts, videos, blogs etc I've read and watched over the years. Lot's of great fish talk, really got me amped up for this year. I unfortunately didn't have the time to float after our meeting which makes this the second time in 2016 I've car topped my boat and not wet a line. Good times, thanks for putting it together Terry.
  14. Those are sharp, can't wait to pick one up and talk some fishing.
  15. For sure, I don't think most people understand the hat you wear has a direct impact on how well you fish, more so than anything else like rods, reels, line, lures, flys etc. It's all about the hat.
  16. I'll take that off your hands. PM me how you would like to arrange the details. And so begins a 10w pike/musky setup.
  17. Hook up is always preferable IMO, what kind of hook is that?
  18. exactly, at that point, buy a boat.
  19. I'll be there. We talking snap backs or flex fits Terry?
  20. Just tied my first couple murdich minnows, good to know about the polar fibers purpose, I figured it was just to fill the body out a little more. I'll have to tie up some more of them downsized.
