I joined the ISA in the spring of 2000. I was the newsletter editor from 2001 until 2012. I have been the Treasurer and Membership Director since 2002. I'm also the Chairman of the Bronzeback Blowout.

Terry Dodge
ISA Conservation Director
Terry learned of the ISA by way of conservation concerns he had
with a little stream he fishes known as Kilbuck Creek.
The Illinois Smallmouth Alliance name kept popping up in all search
topics Terry had googled while searching for answers to his concerns.
After registering to the ISA Forums and discussing the problem with
ISA members and leadership, Terry soon joined and became an ISA member.
Terry grew up in Rockford, Illinois near the Kishwaukee River.
After high school Terry served his young adult years in the United States Marine Corps.
After serving, Terry returned to Rockford and started a family and found peace from the
hustle and bustle of everyday life, by chasing smallmouth bass on/in his home waters.
“I can’t get enough of it. Wading a small river or creek in search of the mighty smallmouth
bass is one of the most enjoyable ways to spend a day. The whole experience is awesome!
From the moment I first stepped foot in water with my father as a young boy, I knew this was
the thing for me. The scenery, the wildlife, the bump, the hook-set, the fight, the entire
experience is so incredibly awesome! And if a smallmouth gives you a bull rush… WOW!!
People who have not yet experienced this do not know what they are missing.” ~ Terry Dodge
As the Conservation Director for the Illinois Smallmouth Alliance, Terry hopes to build
new excitement about conservation by developing new programs that will target the public thru Education, Awareness, and Participation.

I grew up alongside the banks of Salt creek in North Riverside during the 1950's. Having watched that beautiful little creek be turned into virtually nothing but a sewer is what has fueled my passion for stream conservation. Now being retired after 45 years as a carpenter installing architectural millwork I am able to do do just that with the Illinois Smallmouth Alliance.
I now live in Darien Illinois with my wife of 55 years, Bonnie. We have 2 adult sons and a basset hound named Rusty
