  1. Nice, I bet it will come alive in the water. If you’re looking for cheap dubbing in a ton of options check out flytyersdungeon.com I’ve been happy with their prices and they gave some great streamer materials.
  2. It’s on the calendar, looking forward to it.
  3. 😁 glad I’m not the only one who talks to my boat. I wish I knew what sweet nothings I need to whisper to get her to stop having problems. She’s a drama queen lately.
  4. Some plans came up tonight so I’ll have to tune in late or watch the video after. Looking forward to it either way.
  5. I would have to echo Ryan, the best way to drive engagement overall would be the hot social media apps. I also think that Tik tok is the devil… so maybe an instagram account would be a good start. I’ve always been impressed by this club, its run well, there’s a multitude of events for socialization and conservation. I’ve met plenty of really enjoyable people who are also damn fine fishermen. Are we really slipping? Is membership trending that negatively? I’m interested to hear and would be happy to help more going forward. Maybe we could start with a series of engagement driven videos for instagram.
  6. Sounds good, that’s a new one for me.
  7. Wish I could make it. Good luck on the esox hunt!
  8. My condolences, so sorry Ed.
  9. Classic fly that’s a pleasure to cast. That’s looking real good.
  10. Looks like it’s part slumpbuster and part egg sucking leech. Two killer patterns in one!
  11. Totally The best way to pass these winters. Looks good!
  12. That’s a stretch I’m very familiar with, Hate to hear it. Let me know if you hear anything else, thanks for the heads up Paul.
  13. Thanks for the kind words gents. I’m really happy with how this one turned out.
  14. I had the pleasure of joining Paul, Terry, and Gordon on fishing and camping trip in July. We fished some of the most beautiful water I've ever seen. It was fun to navigate, and the potential of a nice fish from every nook and cranny of the river was overwhelming. I brought some cameras along and did my best to balance fishing, filming, and just being in the moment. We were blessed with good weather, flows, and even better company. The smallmouth were really keyed in on crawfish but the almighty whopper plopper pulled up some quality fish from the shallows. We found some Esox too.. https://youtu.be/yqfLxUWBNbQ
  15. Are the 4 night runs supposed to be $167? I’m interested in another go.
  16. Sweet! I always thought those medalists On a fenwick ff series where classy looking. How loud is it?
  17. I got the glass bug a while ago when I was really turned off by some fast action rods. I've had the Echo 9ft Riverglass in 5w and the Badass glass 8w in the quiver for a while now and I love them. I use the 5w for driftless trout, smaller river bass and panfish, when larger fish bend that into the cork I get a cheesy stupid smile every time. The 8w is blue like a freaking lightsaber and handles tighter fishing in rivers for larger fish really well. It swings and loads faster, good for shooting heavy lines and flys, I've found an intermediate line that keeps the leader short and pulls down big bushy stuff is really sweet. It's not the lightest rod but has power for heavy weight forward lines, fair tradeoff. I also have an old white fiberglass wonder rod that needs to be tested eventually. metal ferrules make my elbow hurt to look at... Funny you mention the ff809, I love that and planned a ff786? clone. I have a 7w blue halo blank in green, a sweet downlocking real seat, but I'm still looking for a proper fenwick handle.. Anyone out there build rods?
  18. That #4 would be a better fit, and afford you more room on the shank to tie in your Maribou. Give it a shot! The smaller ones are great for foam bugs. Maybe a smaller old mr. Wiggley.
  19. Here’s a mop frog on a size 1 b10s. About as big of a hook as I’d go for this pattern. This has been a killer fly for me the last couple years. Dead drifted, long pops, or worked fast. The mono loop helps with the legs fouling,
  20. Got my first topwater bass Friday on blockhead mop frog. It’s like ringing the dinner bell. Stock up people! What sized hook are you using? Looks like you could go a little bigger, there’s plenty of foam to balance it out.
