    Was it a CGR? those are fun rods, they should match up perfectly.

    A nice sparse clouser will work wonders, but don't be afraid to experiment with other materials than bucktail using the same style hook and eyes. The half/half is a good example. I also love a murdich minnow for subsurface, they are a breeze to cast and simple ties.

    Recently picked up their fiberglass 8.5 foot five weight. I'm glad to see they stand behind their products while still offering aggressively priced fly rods.

    It was a great day to be out I'm sure. Weather tomorrow looks a little rough. I might not make this one either, came down with a cold today but will see how I feel tomorrow.

    Good stuff. I've made all my flyboxes this year, I don't see why you would pay $30-40 bucks for something you can make under $10. Pistol cases off amazon, old VHS boxes (especially the double wides) used first aid kits (the ones with a sealed rubber gasket) So many options. I've got a can of heavy duty adhesive spray at home that has worked out for me without all the prep.

    great info and report Rob, I'll be keeping this in mind on upcoming outings. I haven't had much luck on topwater, probably a byproduct of not committing to it.
