  1. My Dad surprised me with a Gopro camera the other day. Big props to the Pops! I'm beyond excited to see what I do with it, the next step is upgrading the computer and my video editing software. Do we have any other owners on the forums? Mind sharing your experiences or opinions about them?

    Gar

Amazing specimen Nans on calling him a fisherman though.
  10. I had a great time and it was nice to finally meet some of you guys. Big thanks to Terry for putting it together! As mentioned, Jude's seine was way too cool. I could see that being a great tool and just plain fun. I'm looking forward to getting out on the water with you guys.
  11. Sounds good, I'm looking forward to meeting everybody.
  12. I think that's a great idea. Hopefully I get my stickers from the DNR soon so I can have mine fully registered.

    Ascend FS10

Your going to love it, a kayak is probably the best investment you can make for fishing rivers around here. Those new Ascends look sharp and well thought out too.
  15. I've been under the weather this weekend, won't be making it today. Good luck and tight lines everybody.

    Chupacabra

Tracks well because of some huge channels/chines in the hull. Not very fast though, it's best suited for fishing smaller rivers and water. That's my experience from the last 3 times I've had it out on a mix of water & conditions.

    Chupacabra

It does get harder to balance if the boats loaded up with a full cooler or something really heavy. When It's just my regular gear it's fine. It rolls great over most hard or flat surfaces and it's really nice knowing the spot that would get the most wear on your hull is replaceable. I'll give a little walkthrough at the outing, it's like showing off a hot date

Cool looking yak, If you want something along those lines check out the Moken 10 by FeelFree. 10ft, 60lbs, easily stable enough to stand in, and only $650. I've had mine for a couple months now and I'm loving it. Once it gets more time on the water I'll post a review or something.
  19. Backyard Bar and Grill is the bomb, cheeseburger soup! Looks like a chance of showers Sunday, bring the waders and raingear.
  20. I see them frequently on stretches above the Belvidere Dam also, where I've yet to ever see an officer. My point is once expensive tickets start getting handed out word will spread. The thought of tubing isn't so fun when it may cost you a couple hundred bucks. Instead of focusing on one park like Baumann They could focus on a different one each weekend at random.
  21. I like how they list tubers as the #1 problem, from everything I've seen they are absolutely correct. Nothings worse than fishing a quite serene spot only to hear them rounding a bend, loud and obnoxious, with a wake of cans and trash behind them. I hate to generalize but 80% + of the groups I've come into contact with have been like this. The Kish is not a bar, yet people are obviously tanked and drinking in public. It's not a garbage, but having to keep track of all your beer cans must be terribly inconvienent on a tube . This may be jelousy speaking but my kayak is a floating piece of man powered plastic, yet I have to register it, pay taxes, and obey all the rules. Why don't people on innertubes have to do the same? It's easy to rant about what's wrong, and much harder to find a solution to fix it. Placing more officers at the busiest of parks would likely be a deterrent, especially when violations are met with $$$ fines. I think it will take more than that but I'm excited to see what ideas the group can come up with.
