After seeing some recent brutus pics I went back to one of my smb reports from years ago to pull up photos of my biggest stream smallie ever for comparison.Instead of the pics only their jpg #s appeared.Is there any way of getting the pics to show up again?

I was referring to the very shallow rocky "flats" thruout the section we fished.Long legged Scott would fisn them by planting his feet down to stop the toon in place. I would've had to get out of it and stand up with it tethered to me.

Steve When I pontooned the M. last year with Scott and saw how shallow much of the mid rive was i also exclusively fished either the slow sinking murdich or a bassbug. I had only limited success partly because it was my 1st time on that oddly structured river and partly because it was hard to flyfish the current from the pontoon

i agree except with so few acres it's only a start of little cosequence unless greatly expanded.

I'd check with Tight Lines the guide service on the M. An excellent guide I know familiar with the river recommends the "do nothing" method using big trout type flies with rubber legs like the madam x or the chernobyl ant allowed to just drift along on the surface.He said that due to the daily pressure from that shop's guide fleet on the river's best spots the smallies no longer respond very well to more conventional tactics such as actively working the banks. I plan on trying the usual methods but will be ready to follow his advice as well.Btw the do nothing was the only thing that worked on Ed's recent Lake M.. ISA outting. Craig Riendau caught a bunch float n flying.Nothing else produced on those reluctant heavily pressured bass.

The canal in southern Cook/Will Ctys appears to have normal water levels.

Rob I got the Blaze5/6 thru Amazon for $35 with free 2day shipping.by oking A's trial offering.It's replacing one of my decades oid $250 Swiss made Marryat reels. i liked the looks and color of their reels so much that over time I bought 4,2 of which have worked perfectly to this day 2 being a constant annoyance.

Anyone looking for a quality fly reel should check out these on the website.After reading the glut of highly positive reviews I bought one.with which I'm very pleased As for price the cost of just a spare spool on other reels of comparable quality is at least 2x the cost of this reel. .

Primary smb rod is a 9'6'.Will sometimes step up to a 10'7 as when distance rollcasting with a fnf using a relatively large bobber or down to a stout 9'4 for smaller fish streams or in low cfs flows. I save the 9'8 for lmb, steelhead, salties;

A floatube is great for stillwater fishing but useless in moving water. A pontoon would work fine on the Kank during low to moderate flows. If you have to go upstream to get back to your starting point a kayak is the best by far.

Forrest For smaller water like quarries strip pits farm ponds floatubes are ideal lightweight easy to inflate & with backstraps backpackable.With a good pair of fins they're easy to propel and allow you to hold a position effortlessly I've used them for many years and much prefer them to any other watercraft for stillwater fishing.If you fish any of the above waters I'd reconsider selling.I believe there may be some strip pits near Plano not far from where you live.
