it's not unusual for the soles to come apart from the uppers eventually. Applying Shoogoo available at any hardware store all around the back half of the boots at the seam will reinforce the connection extending the time before this happens if not preventing it altogether.Shoogoo can also be used to reattach the sole though if the boots are still in good shape having the repair done by a shoemaker is best. Re Kevin's comment Chota did start stitching at least their higher boots apparently in response to complaints about premature failure I bought a pair years ago which failed after only a few wearings.I swore I'd never buy another Chota.But this summer after seeing they're now also stitched I bought a pair because thy're very light and have a unique lacing system that's very ez and secure.Time will tell how well they hold up Whenever my boots dry between uses I wet them down making things easier getting them on both for them and myself

You may have had 3mms. With 5mms the most that's needed would be a pair of long johns.Neos cost a lot less than quality breathables allowing them to be saved for the warmer conditions for which they're meant. In addition to that saving you can get a size specific to those conditions instead of a one size fits all needed for multi layering. Neos are also less likely to leak which is more than just a nuisance in 30 degree temps. Another advantage is a 2nd pair can serve in a pinch if one pair fails.Unless you live in a shoe box where's the advantage in having only one pair?

When it gets cold I wear 5mm bootfoot neoprenes. there's no such thing as cold water with them on.No layering needed.

No harm trying out one size smaller especially if not having to do the mailing thing.What's needed is good freedom of movement w/o excess material.

The weeds & algae this year have been kept at bay by the abnormally high # of cloudy, rainy days reducing the amount of sunlight reaching the streambed to foster weed growth.Between the relative lack of weeds as well as the greatly reduced amount of silt in the river in the last cupl years it's nice to be able to actually see the streambed again.If only the fishing didn't suck in most stretches.

It's disappointing to see the apparent end of the quid pro quo relationship between Capt. Austin & the iSA regarding the display of his ad in the Bulletin.Between the trips he offers at every Blowout, the 1-2 informative talks he gives at Bass Pro every year, & the very generous $100 discount for a day's guided float he's always given to all ISA members that relationship beneficial to both parties in my opinion should be maintained by our organization.

It looks to me that this was simply an accident.It's even more apparent what'll become of Fritz's farm; another strip mall/middle class ghetto subdivision.There's already a for sale sign in front of the cornfield on rte 59. Say what you want about the guy all he wanted to do was farm his land unlike all the other farmers who couldn't wait to get rich quick selling it all to developers.

My choice for wet wading where studs are not needed is Cabelas felt soled zip boot.Easier to don/doff & much lighter than wading boots.In your regular shoe size there's no need for neo booties, Inserting foam or gel insoles will cushion nicely on rocky bottoms
