  1. Nate at Tight Lines had his musky fly setup on the Sage Bass. He said you can throw a chicken with it.

    Sonics

My Simms are still going strong but I was looking for a new pair for my daughter and have researched the Orvis Sonic and they have pretty good ratings. I also looked at the Redington version which came out a few years ago. Let me know how they hold up!
  3. 10-pound tippet – 0 pounds, 4 oz., Steve The Peeve, Unstable, IL, Unknown River, Chartreuse Clouser, July 7, 2013 It was there for the taking. Now try to top that!
  4. Reminds me of Clouser's Floating Minnow
  5. I really liked this one too. http://www.amazon.com/Fly-Fishing-Smallmouth-Streams-Bob-Clouser/dp/0811701735
  6. It doesn't really seem quicker? Wonder about the knot strength? Anyway, I like a loop knot for flies.
  7. That bass was caught and weighed at the Sturgeon Bay tournament, so we can only presume its all legit. Nice pic from the past Ron! What a pig.
  8. Impressive issue to say the least! Jonn, you almost make me want to drop the fly rod and throw some swim jigs, but not yet.......... AC nice job. We've all been the before and you really captured the mood! I'm sure your Dad treasures his time spent with you as well. That's so special, keep sharing the stories.
  9. I like how crisp the focus is on the bullfrog's eyes!
  10. I used the 60 on the Fodders I tied and I also tied some big Clousers on them. I like the quality of the hooks available too (used Daichi and Gammys).
  11. Well that didn't quite work but here is a photo (I hope). Saw a bullhead and some sunfish scurrying over the bike path. I waited for a smallie to show but apparently they didn't know it was an ISA media event.
  12. Walked over to shoot a quick video of the West Branch. The main channel of the river is east (behind) of the sign in the background.
  13. I think its flushing a lot of basements out as well. Poor homeowners. Had to drive over the West Branch twice today; once going to work and once trying to make it back home. I haven't seen it this high since 2008 though still not as bad as the Naperville flood back in '96. More rain coming, its gonna be bad.
  14. Good to see you back on your feet! Great catches!
  15. Deer hair is difficult for me to tie so I won't criticize! Love this fly for smallies!
