  6. i like that . for the mono stems you can also flatten it with pliers glue would hold better and it would tie in neater.
  7. maybe tie one with craft hair for tail and first bunch then finish2nd and 3rd bunch with bucktail. rich mc
  8. rob we are all trying to improve our tying and this style just adds to it. after reading some more about it one tyer said to decrease the lengthof the section by 1/3 as you work towardthe head on longer flies with more sections 1/4. some add eyes with flectite[arrow glue] i will try an eye of t shirt paint. as with any fly it can be weighted or even added to a float n fly head

    those tying on worm hooks should google up the weedless hpu fly. just another variation to keep us busy at the vise till spring rich mc
  15. forgot to add that brush on superglue [loctite] will help . i have some but bring some if you have it rich
  16. yes i have used the 1/0ewgon the 4 inch worm,size 1 with a 3 inch and 2/0 with a 5 incher there is now a company called decoy hooks that make size 2,4,6 and even 8. they can be found at lees bait shop in carolstream on army trail rd rich
  17. dont miss the scoop on tying the MOP fly. easy fly that does very well. we should tie 3 variations a bead head , a wacky style and a nymph that sinks backward i have plenty of material rich mc
  18. they are different darice brand from the craft stores are shorter and stiffer. hareline extra is thebest with punisher craft hair very very close second. sold by the originators of the float n fly. richmc

  20. yes, a 6 or 7wt is a good choice. i do suggest casting rods before you buy as your casting style will differ from others. i also like more backbone with sink tip or sinking lines . my fav rod is a 7wt LL bean . rich mc

  23. saw that rig on a video by mike iccanelli. in trying to create a better wacky worm fly i added a bead to one end of the worm and it acts just like the neko rig with less snagging rich mc
