i have been trying for years. it can look like a wacky worm but doesnt wiggle . using a core of mono to keep it somewhat stiff causes the fly to twistand it acts as a hook guard. but im still working on it.
i also agree that the mono- flourocarbon topic is miss sold to anglers. the no streach factor and sinking abilities far out weigh the clearness aspect. i believe color affects the silhouette that the fish sees and sihouette out ranks color in importance nice topic norm rich mc
i wouldnt get carried away with fancy eyes since they may be partially above water simple t shirt paint eyes is my choice if it was a diver them better eyes for sure rich mc
dan blanton uses large plastic worm binders. large streamers can be placed inside the bags and are easy to see. just dont put them away wet. or you can do what some musky fly anglers do use a styrofoam cooler and have them hang on the inside rich mc
my wife is setting up a booth at the Belvidere American Legion craft show saturday she will sell my satin flies and craw jigs and some flies. stop by and ask her tons of questions as she is out of her comfort zone. rich mc
this years show had a lot to offer. thanks to cory and alan i was able to get a great brat for lunch and check out bill sherer making some awesome dubbing brushes. the seminars must have been well attended as you could tell when a talk was on the halls emptied. well done john! rich mc
mike i had an article earlier about the mop flies. walmart has a nice rug thats even better than floor dusters. google up micro fiber rugs or noodle rugs. i will be selling and demo tying them at the early show i have 18 colors of the nubs . rich mc
