mike g sent me a copy of the article or should i say tech manual. his photos are excellent and his writting is outstanding. but his flies are too involved for me. besides if i want a few ill just swap some flies with him. john and i fished shabbona with him on july3 he fished that fly but did better with his spinnerbait/roadrunner imitation fly . rich mc

something a little different is a catalog from do it molds. they photo all the styles of jig heads, enough to make your mind think of what might work better. feather craft fly catalog for stealing ideas for those jig heads and to laugh at the cost of some of the fly outfits. rich mc -

i am no longer an officer since last fall.. it is just my opinion from hearing horror stories about farmers being fined for bs reasons partly it could be a way to run small farmers out of business to be grabbed by BIG business. tu only shows what they can bandstand on.

perhaps using a smaller diameter braid line will help cut the heavy current. walleye jig guys use the thinnest they can get away with. rich mc

as you can see in the first photo the hair sets back once it gets used and abused . mike, it looks like you furled the tail and palmered forward dont see that it was backwrapped. by backwrapping 4 times and coming forward it stiffens the area past the bend to help it keep from fouling. rich .

if you fished the kish you could go from riffle to riffle and not have to get up, just walk off the board on gravel. would also give you a better look into the water than sitting in a yak. so is it a fad or just exercise ?

shabbona lakeside bait n tackle now has paddleboards for rent $10 bucks an hour some are fishing off of them once they get some practice has anyone used one ?rich mc

this spring i have been tying with wendy eider chunky yarn. its a eyelash type yarnthat comes in 5 fishy colors, white,ecru,slate,blue andbrown.it makes a nice leech by furling the tail and palmering the body,and makes an excellent crappie jig. i gave some flies and material out to workers at sgt tommys last weekend. i will offer material to the first 5 members that send me their address by private message . rich mc

dupage county has several ponds and lakes that get stocked trout. ponds are easier access for kids and parents compared to a creek and should be stocked there.

i believe clinton lake closed a creek arm one spring so the crappies could get an uninterupted spawn . rich
