  1. THANKS! That is great to have such a nice turnout and for the ISA to give a value like this to our members. Great job.
  2. Great reports and lots of fun. Paul, sorry about that. I've been there and it's a sorry sight. Nice that you have high end rods with good warranties. I don't think separate (fly outings) are necessary. We sort of tried that and I think it leads to a feeling of separation rather than togetherness. We're all ISA guys fishing for the same fish In the same stream so I say all together.
  3. You mean me? I specifically had that ticket in mind for you. Ha Seriously, a couple of us really really like the honey buzz by vision lures. Handmade by a guy down south that my buddy Randy found. There are lots of buzzers but that one has some qualities that no one else has. Once in June? You gotta give up that third job.....it's killin your fishing time...ha
  4. Looks like a great time and sorry I couldn't make it! Big thanks to all officers and volunteers to make this happen and especially to Ed for coordinating the whole deal.
  5. From Walter, the owner of Paddle and Trail Sports: Jim - I heard from a number of folks that the tournament went very well and all involved had a great time. I appreciate all that that ISA did in support of the tournament and continued efforts in helping further the sport of paddlesport angling. We look forward to our continued relationship with the ISA in encouraging and looking for different and creative ways to inspire others to join the growing ranks of paddlesport anglers. Best, Walter
  6. Yea, really fantastic donation to the ISA. Tom told me he was vey appreciative of the ISA and its support. He's learned a lot about smallmouth fishing from the ISA and this was his very generous way to give back to the organization. Of course for other species he's teaching us a lot! THANK YOU!!
  7. Eric "EJ" Jackson (born March 3, 1964) is a world-champion freestyle kayaker, kayak designer, and founder of Jackson Kayak. Jackson has been world freestyle champion four times (1993, 2001, 2005, 2007). In October 2009, Eric Jackson achieved second place at the freestyle kayak world championships in Thun, Switzerland. At the latest world championships Eric finished in 11th place (his lowest placing ever in a world championship event)[1]. Eric has been a member of the United States of America Kayaking Team, either in freestyle or in slalom, every year since 1989. In 1992, Jackson competed in Barcelona as part of the U.S. Olympic team, finishing 13th in the K-1 event.[1] He is a two-time winner of the Everest award.[2] He is the author of several instructional books and videos teaching many aspects of whitewater kayaking, including river running, playboating, rolling and bracing. His children Emily and Dane are also competitive kayakers. Eric has been noted for his ability to continue to win championships competing against much younger athletes.[2][3] After spending many years designing kayaks for various manufacturers, Eric founded Jackson Kayak in October 2003.[1]

    Simple Kayak

It allowed me to reach spots I couldn't have just be wading... Yes, that is the deal. Having something you can use to get to fish you otherwise would have missed. Nice job on the kayak!
  14. yea For him, I would think it's the best legacy he could leave behind, unless he had kids. Thanks for the pics
  15. I saw this and wonder ifvhe was wearing a PFd Even with heavy clothes or waders on it will keep you afloat Waiting to hear rest of story. Sad nonetheless
  16. Sorry to hear this. Don was a good guy and supporter of the ISA and outdoors and certainly a great friend of our streams. Thanks for letting us know.
  17. I rewrote it once to keep prying minds from wandering....
  18. Thanks for the tips. I never thought about it transferring from the kayak bottom to my hands etc. That would suck! I've placed my hand on some stinging nettles on the bank sliding into the water. I am careful about where I put my hands down now.
  19. HA Seriously though.. I assume you guys are wearing waders when crashing through brush etc. Do you then contact your waders with your hands etc? Is it your hands or legs or what? If you're not wearing waders then I get it. (I think)
