  1. The latest issue of the bronzeback looks great! Very nice. Filled with top notch articles. great read cover to cover. Mail me another one so I can read it again.
  2. Read my last post again without playing the video.
  3. This came to me in a dream last night.... Being unable to sleep after such a dream, I began to decode the message and this is what I came up with; It seems a little early to do a trash run. We just had major high water, so most of the trash is in the Mississippi by now. Also , we haven't had any tubers yet, and that's the source of most of the trash. I think the most effective trash runs would be after things heat up, particular after a major holiday like Memorial Day or the Fourth. Plus, there's the Chicago Region outing on the same day. I am going to reschedule this event for a later date. Sorry. Going by the words of the decoded message and the very little interest shown in this event, I just feel rescheduling would be the best way to go and will also make for better pictures for Mike Clifford. Did you get all this Jim S.?
  4. This clean up sounds good to Jim S. Does it happen to sound good to any other NW Region folk?
  5. Sucks. Glad to hear your okay.
  6. The garbage barge will float on Saturday May 18 @ 1pm. That is as long as the rain holds off. Last I head we have a good chance of some heavy down pours on Wednesday.
  7. I've always wondered.... what that big bug is that buzzes around my head each and every time I'm out wading, any ideas? I never see the darn thing cause I'm too busy whacking the air and ducking my head.
  8. Kishwaukee River Float-N-Clean Saturday, May 18 - It's time for some Spring cleaning. Terry will be floating his garbage barge down the north branch of the Kishwaukee River. What's a "garbage barge" you ask? Come out to Baumann Park in Cherry Valley @ 1pm and find out for yourself. And bring a camera because Mike Clifford needs pics. I would imagine it would be a good idea to bring a fishing rod or two along.
  9. Kishwaukee River Float Fishing Outing Saturday, September 28 - Terry Dodge will host a float down the beautiful Kishwaukee River. This will be an all day outing so pack a lunch. More info to come in the next issue of the Bronzeback Bulletin.
  10. Kishwaukee River Wade Outing Saturday, August 24 @ Kishwaukee River - We will meet at 8am. in the Cherry Valley Cafe in Cherry Valley for some good breakfast and smallmouth talk. After breakfast we'll split into groups and wade-fish the river (both north and south branches) via the many forest preserves in the area.
  11. Apple River Fishing Outing Saturday, July 13 @ apple River Canyon State Park - Paul will host a wade-fishing outing. Due to the size of the water this will be an RSVP trip. We typically break up into groups of 4 or less and explore different areas. this driftless area of Illinois offers unique terrain and beauty. Contact Paul Trybul (815) 703-2651 to RSVP.
  12. Love Your River Day (FOTKR) Saturday, June 8 - Friends Of The Kishwaukee River (FOTKR) will be holding their second annual "Love Your River Day" at Espenscheid F.P. in Winnebago County. 14. The only info I can pass along is the Karen of the IDNR says that volunteers are not need but anyone interested is more than welcomed to come out and watch. I'll be out of town on this day so I'm unable to show.
  15. OnSite Fun Poll — During the month of February a picture of a carcass was posted. The member who posted the picture of the carcass had stated that it was one of a deer. This statement has been challenged. Be sure to examine the picture and cast your vote. We must figure this out and come to a final decision. The carcass in question....
  16. No. "We" are not running the survey. Wilderness Systems and Jackson are (I consider) the two top contenders in the river kayak fishing business. I just like to see WS doing what they can to stay in the fight.
  17. Wilderness System Kayaks is adding one new color to choose from. The link below shows 3 new colors but only one will be used. WS would like to know which one of the 3 you like. Click on the link to cast your vote. https://www.wf-site.com/microsite/pages/b58656248de7400a
  18. Where'd all the people go? Nice pics. The before & after shots are real jaw droppers.
  19. Due to very high water conditions it has been decided to cancel the breakfast picnic scheduled for April 27. The Kishwaukee River water level will remain at an unsafe level through and beyond April 27. We are discussing rescheduling at a later date. Sorry.
