  1. Once again we'll have to keep an eye ion the sky for the first half of the week and hope the rain fall will be minimal and does not effect the river. NOTE The parking spaces infront of the cafe have been ripped out and that area is under construction. Not sure if it will be done by Saturday, but parking is still available across the street or in the rear.
  2. If any members attend any of these samplings, please try to take a few pics and share your experience. Thanks!

  6. Just sent another email to Karen. I hope to hear from her this week.
  7. July 11 thru July 22, IDNR will be conducting stream samplings of the Kishwaukee River and it’s tributaries. Contact Terry if you would like to help the IDNR team as they do this scientific study of what lurks beneath the surface. IDNR regional director Karen Rivera and her team will be conducting stream samplings in the Kishwaukee River corridor beginning in mid-July. The team can usually use some help with these samplings in the way of netters. Netters wade behind a boat shocker that shocks and stuns fish to the surface for netting. Karen runs a tight ship and insists on hauling in the most fish possible. She does not like missed fish. The more fish taken the better the study. It’s that simple. All you need is to bring a pair of non-breathable waders (must have) if you would like to help. Breathable waders will allow the electrical current to pass through, resulting in a shock, so please be sure your waders are non-breathable. Karen and her team will supply the nets and whatever else may be needed. Unfortunately I have not (at this time) been able to get a hold of Karen for a schedule of dates and times for the samplings. I have sent a couple emails and have still not heard back. Karen is usually very good with getting back in touch. I will post the info as soon as I receive it.
  8. Welcome! Be sure to check out our calendar and attend an event. The Fox is a damn good fishery and I'm sure you'll get some in-put on the Big Rig. Hope you enjoy your time with the ISA.
  9. Unless Paul or Tim want to set up something a bit earlier. I'll be on vacation time for the first couple weeks of July and not sure what the wife and I might be doing.
  10. Crocs and horoscopes?! What is going on here? Guess I'll see about securing Richard Simmons for a NW Region clinic......
  11. We can all relax. I just noticed that Jude, while holding a big knife, is also wearing Crocs. Kind of makes you wonder what makes Jude think that he has a right to suggest the removal of another man's man-cards? I fear no man in Crocs.
  12. RESCHEDULED NW REGION WADE OUTING (June 18) High waters kept us from wading on June 18. The outing has been rescheduled.... July 16, Saturday, Kishwaukee River wade We’ll meet for breakfast at 7:30am. at the Cherry Valley Cafe, 216 E. State St, Cherry Valley, IL. After chow we’ll break into groups and wade the north and south branches of the Kishwaukee River for the mighty smallmouth bass. Contact Terry on the ISA website if you plan to attend so he can make reservations at the cafe.
  13. Let's go ahead and reschedule for Saturday, July 16th. I'll get the info up on the calendar.
  14. I'm sorry. For some reason this post of yours wasn't showing up until just now. I do know that you showed interest and to be truthful Jim S. had signed on as a "for sure" but with limited time, Ben also showed interest with limited time and planned to float. I do plan to reschedule once the levels drop. Please don't hate me. I didn't pull your "man-card", that was Jude. Jude carries a big knife and frightens us all up here in the NW Region, so we pretty much let him do what he wants.
  15. I'm sorry. Jude's the one pulling the man-cards. Why? I really don't understand it. I believe we have a new NW Region theme song. "All Out of Love" is a pop ballad by the Australian soft rock duo Air Supply, released in 1980. It was written by Graham Russell and Clive Davis. In the United States, it reached number two on the Hot 100 (blocked by both "Upside Down" by Diana Ross and "Another One Bites the Dust" by Queen) and number 5 on the Adult Contemporary chart. We should choreograph a yak dance to the song and showcase on a date later this year.

  17. River level shot up (and still on the up-n-up) from Tuesday nights rain. Levels has surpassed what I consider to be dangerous for wading, plus with the lack of interest (0) this outing is CANCELLED. I would like to to share a date of July 30 - 31 for you all to keep in mind. Kishwaukee Paddle Fest 2016 I can post more info if there is interest. Live music, camping, and much more.
  18. It's 11:18pm. Wednesday night and I just lost my breakfast from this morning. Thanks for keeping me in all your thoughts. Not too sure about the guy with the big knife.
  19. Thanks for the update. We would be so lost without you.
  20. I can't catch nothing, not even cats. I should go to the Blues Fest.
  21. I see no reason why floating can't be an option. If some wade and some float, it should make shuttling fairly simple. You are counted?
