  1. I signed. (Even though you asked for all good members.)
  2. I think the example was already set years ago. You have some good kids. Why do you think I ditched the minnow bucket halfway through? Didn't want that pic floating around the interwebs.

We hit Bauman Park in Cherry Valley and he caught ay least 40 bluegill on an elk hair caddis. He had a blast.
  4. Had a good time with Mr. Dodge and the Goodman pack. Met for a great breakfast and then headed to the river. The Goodmans were in the canoe that Pat M gave to Tim. I think the kids will get a lot of use out of it. Very cool, Pat. Terry was in his pontoon, which was dubbed the Garbage Barge, and I was in my yak. The weather was perfect an the trash was ripe for the pickin'. One of the boys said it was like an Easter egg hunt. Terry and I fished. It was kind of slow, but very competitive. We even ended the day with the same exact number of fish caught. (As noted in Terry's signature line above.) Some pics….

Finally got the nephew out with his new set-up. Thanks, Jim!
  6. I think Terry caught an 8 incher and a 12 incher the other day. We should probably let him in the club or he'll feel bad.
  7. Hey Chris…Glad to see you found our little e-clubhouse! Welcome aboard and look forward to hitting the Kish with you some day. I think there's an Apple trip planned later in the summer. Plenty of Chicago area Fox rats in here too. Lots of stuff going on within the club, most of which is on the calendar at the top of this page. Hope to read some reports in the future.
  8. I really like the looks of that thing. I've used a W.J. sling for years now and love it. Hmmm…tempting...
  9. Hold your cards. We have a bingo!
  10. I hate to say it, but it usually spikes a little, then drops quickly, then the real increase comes. I hope I'm wrong, but I'll bet it heads back up very soon. I've had my hopes dashed many times by believing in that initial drop.
  11. Sounds like the perfect fly fisherman cliche. I have to repeat what Timothy said: really?!?
  12. I can't believe it, but I have not hit the Apple yet this year. Looking at the USGS levels, I'd say it's in great shape right now.
  13. That's a nifty little map you put together.

    OCD?

That closing line is great. "The shame never seems to scrub off."
  15. Chug Buggery. Don't you guys know anything?
  16. Not really. I usually try to fish the downstream end of the slack area as I pass by. Then I turnaround and and if I have to "park" in the slack water, it's at least in a section I've somewhat fished. It seems that most of the fish ares on the upstream end of the slack water anyway. Maybe it just seems that way because I can fish it more thoroughly. Maybe because active feeding fish are up there waiting for dinner to float by?
  17. One trick I heard of was using a golf club with the head removed. Obviously have to be pretty shallow. I haven't tried it, but if it worked you could have a pretty cheap supply from garage sales. If a 15# anchor isn't holding your yak in place, I'd say you shouldn't be trying to anchor in that spot anyway.
  18. I've never used one. I just watch the fly line like a hawk. I have to admit it's getting tougher as my eyesight gets worse.
