Coosa, spinning rod with tubes and other plastics, baitcaster with swim jig, and fly rod with what ever seems good to tie on. See you all in the morning.
Yes, I noticed Terry's lack of excitement when I said I was going. I had the same response when I noticed how teeny tiny that smallmouth was he said we might get "lucky" to catch.
Looks like great weather and river conditions. Top that off with some of those little fish Terry catches and it might be a good day!
I too wear neoprene socks with my wading boots while wet wading. I definitely enjoy wet wading over wearing waders. It is a little ironic we worry so much about the potential hazards in the water while wet wading yet most of us live sedentary lifestyles while stuffing all kinds of processed "food" down our throats all day. That's the real health risk. That said, I would caution against wet wading with open sores or wounds.
My condolences to you and your family Bart.
I may attend this outing. I've never fished the Dupage. Keep us posted on the river conditions and rain fall amounts. Hope to see you all Saturday.

Another top notch event by the ISA. Thanks to all those who helped to make the blowout a success. Hopefully we were able to raise the funding needed for our organization to continue to accomplish its mission.
On a side note, my brother in law came and somehow won 3 separate bait casting combos with only 12 tickets. Two St. Croix and one Quantum. What are those odds!
All five of the guys who came in my group had a great time. Thanks again.
My Cabela boots have vibram soles. Excellent grip and traction for the streams I fish. The soles have held up great unfortunately the comfort of the boot has not. I've had them for 3 years. Getting new ones next year. I like these Simms http://www.simmsfishing.com/shop/footwear/g3-guide-boot.html.
I've found them for 50% off a couple times this year but didn't buy them. If I see that price again I'm getting them.
It was a really nice way to help educate and expose the beauty of the Kish to the kids and their parents. Great job setting this up.
As far as the fishing afterwards it wasn't quite what I was hoping for. I caught 8 little smallmouth on the fly. It was only the second time I've fished that stretch of the Kish so it was a nice afternoon. That and fishing in the middle of the day may have contributed to the lack of fish. It was slow going until the last 30 mins of fishing. I tried several different flies and retrieves. Finally I figured it out. I put on a lightly weighted minnow pattern and stripped very aggressively and it was like turning on a switch. The smallies were going nuts.
Ran out of time and had to get home.
