  1. We'll be floating in kayaks on Saturday. Wading on Friday and Sunday.
  2. It's a free country, do want you want. Just keep that kid on a stringer. Although, Larson's is not really a family friendly establishment. There could be some NIU nuts staying there at the same time, and from I understand about college students, I wouldn't be surprised to see them consume a can of beer or two. Just so you know.
  3. Would really like to know if there is more interest in this. There are only two of us thus far.
  4. PUSH.... Terry Dodge - Friday & Saturday nights. Jim Wright - Friday & Saturday nights. Please let me know as soon as possible if you plan to attend.
  5. Glad to see you two got out and got in on the action.
  6. I think not. We each had big ones on, just failed to bring to hand. Joe P - Thanks for the report. The fish were pretty active on Saturday. Glad to hear you guys got a few of the big girls.
  7. Ended up being a pretty nice day all the way around. We all met at the cafe for some eats and smallmouth talk. It was nice to meet Joe P and his buddy. Joe and his guest headed east to fish the north branch around the Garden Prairie area. I hope to see and read a fine report from Joe on how they did. Eric, Brian and myself did the main branch. Overcast skies, a couple lite sprinkles, cool temps and very very little river traffic, Top water smallies, all made made for a very nice and enjoyable outing. Eric had to be out by noon, and I let him know that he he was running a tad behind as he paddled by me at the halfway point @ 1:37pm. Gotta love smallmouth fishing. Eric ended his day with 6 smallmouth. Brian landed 4 smallmouth and 2 pike. -------------------------------> I hosted and had my best outing as a host with 11 smallmouth. The bigger smallies were of the 14" variety.
  8. Looks like a yak attack. I have one hell of a last 10 days or so. If I am not at the cafe by 7:30am, start without me. I'm sure I'll be there, just might be running a bit late. ( I don't own an alarm clock) Looking forward to getting out with you boys.
  9. NW Region Float-N-Wade: This outing is for both floaters or for this who prefer to wade. This is the time of year that the big boys and girls like to come out and play. Step up your game and join us here in the NW Region as we search for, Brutus, the 20" Kishwaukee River smallmouth. Contact Terry Dodge for more info > http://illinoissmall...hp?showuser=877 P.S. B&G at the Cherry Valley Cafe @ 7:30am. > https://plus.google....out?gl=us&hl=en -----------------------------------------------------------------------
  10. You are counted. When do you plan to arrive, Friday or Saturday? I plan to be there both Friday and Saturday nights.
  11. Myself and a few other ISA members have been discussing the idea of doing a float camping trip on the Kishwaukee River. It has been decided that camping at Larsen's in New Milford, IL. would be our best choice. It has also been decided that this event should be opened to all members whether you choose to float and/or wade. I have already notified Larson's of the this event and they are looking forward to our arrival. We are set up for Friday night and Saturday night. Camping cost is $10.00 per night plus the cost of fire wood. Bring you own food and drink, or...... there are about 5 restaurants/taverns near by if you so choose to go that route. Larsen's does have canoe & kayak rentals for those interested, and also a livery service for a cost that I am not sure of. You can contact Steve Larson here > https://www.facebook.com/canoethekish If you have any questions let me know and I will try to find the right answer. If you have any suggestions that you feel might make this event more enjoyable for all, please share. Winter is drawing near. Why not spend a weekend of smallmouth fishing with your fellow ISA members? Camp ISA Weekend: Friday, October 2 & Saturday, October 3. This is an RSVP event.
  12. Do you have a fishing shirt or hat that you would like to have the ISA emblem embroidered onto? Well wait no more! That's right folks, we have set up ISA emblem embroidery at....... Custom Apparel & Promotions in Rockford, IL., 4602 E. State St. > http://custompromotions4u.com/ContactUs/ The cost to have the ISA emblem embroidered is $10.00 each piece. > If for whatever reason you feel you might need more info, feel free to contact me.
  13. Which is a remake of Paul T's Power Leech. Thought that stretch we did might be hot due to the high water levels most of the year, couldn't have been fished much. I guess I was wrong. Would have liked to seen more action. It was nice to see everyone again. Maybe next time the bite will be on.
  14. Sounds like you guys did pretty good. I took my group (Pat M, Bill K, Frank, and myself) on the long hike down to the river. Once at the river Pat and Bill began to wade down-stream, while Frank and I waded up-stream, mainly to get some space between us. Frank and I had a tough time on the Kishwaukee while Pat and Bill seemed to be getting into some fish, as it looked as though they would come together from time to time to snap a pic, which it ended up they were. Bill cheated and brought a bait caster and ended up be the top dog of our group with a total count of 5 or 6, largest being 15". Pat was the top fly caster of our group with 3 or 4, not sure how large. I'll let Pat and Bill fill you in with their details. Frank and I each got skunked. We all ended up joining together once again and we continued to wade further down-stream. I heard what sounded like a rumble off in the distance and Frank looked at me and said..."Yes, that's thunder." We were pretty far from our takeout so we had to hightail it back, which really sucks when you're high tailing against a current. The thunder seemed to mix into one continuous. I never saw any electro flashes of light, but better safe than sorry. Pat and Bill called it a day, Frank and I headed to a creek and kind of waited out the storm. We both switched over to spin gear and Franked ended his skunk by landing 3 smallmouth with the wacky rig. I took the skunk home.
  15. That would be a reservation for 10 smallmouth anglers @ 7:30am. Just so there is no confusion.
  16. What took so long? Glad you can make it. Kind of figured you would once Pat chimed in.
  17. I see Mother Nature plans to visit the area late Thursday night / early Friday morning. Hope she's in a good mood.
  18. So far we have....... 1) terrydodge 2) Frank 3) Pat M 4) Paullampier (new to Smallmouth Fshing, using spin gear) 5) Jim S 6) Bill k 7) Paul T Sr.
  19. Looks like this one just might happen. This outing IS NOT just for the fly guy. I want to see spin guys also. Sorry, let me be morer politicly correct.... This outing IS NOT just for the fly guy/gal. I want to see spin guys/gals also. (more better) Please let me know so I can warn the cafe. If you missed it the first time, then this is your chance to make it up. We will meet at the Cherry Valley Cafe @ 7:30am. > https://plus.google....out?gl=us&hl=en After breakfast we will breakout our fly gear and enjoy a nice relaxing day of smallies on a fly. Spin gear guys are always welcomed. Contact Terry Dodge for more info > http://illinoissmall...hp?showuser=877
