  1. YES Thats the one. the wyurm has great action and i think it would complement a chatterbait nicely. thank you matt
  2. while at the riverside fishing flea market engineered hookset had a table of plastic baits . they are from around champaign il. most noticed was a plastic worm with a triple cut twister tail. like the tails on pike flies. they had a fish tank for demos and i meant to pick some up but got sidetracked if any isa anglers in the area can check local shops to see if there is any contact info. they are a new start up company thanks rich

  8. thanks. i will purchase a few in pink colors. i did use the lurepartsonline discount and ordered flippin hooks to match the marabou jig vmc jig he praised . will attempt to make a fly just like the jig pattern. ordered monday and it came today.
  9. nice fly .similar to bisharats airhead.
  10. at the blowout jim crowley talked about using the x rap with a feathered hook. and the ripstop, what was the other one? said it stops then rolls on its side.
  11. i enjoyed both of the speakers crowley was awesome and my grandson and i had talks on the way home about his tactics . having him mingleduring the evening was great for us with questions he didnt touch on the razor lures buzz baits . so cool to see everyone
  12. cant beat a streamer that has eyelash yarn. i get a hoot out of people faces seeing a guy go into a craft store.
  13. so has anyone tried tying one or looked up other balanced fly videos
  14. took them to a pond for casting. 1/4 of the pond was open. rob asked how they would be if retrieved without an indictor. the smaller mohair leech sank slow on its side to the left . jigged up the fly was erratic pulled fast it was nose down almost like a crankbait. larger faux fur fly did a nosedive when jigged it was like a jigging rapala erratic. did notice that the marabou tail with the fur body gave nice movement. cast the redneck ned with spinning gear .i t had nice action like it was searching left and right while angled forward and down. now i am thinking of an ice fishing rapala with a nail or two under the shank.
  15. i have a pond with an airator that i can hit friday will try
  16. probably best to describe it as soft movement. it is mostly a dead stick approach as it hangs under the indicator. the profile attracts and slight movement of the soft fibers seals the deal. just watched a video on the filobugger by phil rowley . if i was to use this on an active jerk and pause retrieve i think i would use longer material.it would have erratic movement as it sinks, like an ice jigging rapala
  17. randy blauket u tube had a talk on florida bass dont eat them
  18. boy chris , you look like a 30 yr old in that photo. are you one of the younger isa members. lol
  19. i will tye a leech and minnow pattern on zoom. sequin pins work on smaller trout size flies . i have started to use brass coated nails one inch long [menards ] works very well. then i will let you in on my redneck ned rig fly/jig. see you ,monday
  20. youth fishing has picked up since the high schools started the tournaments some ideas are have a few isa anglers talk to the local high school team start with lures and location but end with conservation. and keep in contact with the coaches to let them know about any conservation projects., blowout and early show which i hope come back . let them know about the zoom sessions as well. we should try a beginner fly casting on the water event craig did this when he was our first fly director. organize a short local trip with local kids. i have plenty near me and a grandson to spread the word. any local pond will do. perhaps we can start or sponsor a casting contest both youth and adult, dan basore knows alot about casting competition.
  21. bart posted it on the event forum. i will also show something for the fans of the ned rig a real redneck option!
  22. i can line up doing the balanced fly for the next zoom video. this is something that interests both the fly and float n fly angler looking for thumbs up rich
  23. played with some balanced flies today but used a size 1 hook 90 degree and some nails. i loosely tied on the nail , put some mono thru the hook eye to check the balance. then secured the thread and added sally hansen. added material after it dried. these bigger ones remind me of a ice jigging rapala. original balanced fly uses a pin and a bead,
