  1. most boats dont have speed speedometers. see how well the 55mph signs work on the highway.only good thing is that the area has two conservation cops the defintion given by the cpos is no wake means going at the slowest while still making forward progress.
  2. not the best in a tying video but for our first one it will do. nice to see members getting together in person and on line.

  4. he was a good man, good club member. i worked quite a few sports shows with him in the booth along side me.i am sure he was a director with the northwest group in early ISA days.always a smiling face at the Blowout.
  5. just watched a new utube by gunnar brammer on dubbing loops excellent
  6. i am using a brush maker from member craig its not as easy as the video makes it look. i do have thin wire from dupage fly that is used with it. so far i have made brushes out of craft hair and satin strips. it is too stiff to use as a tail but wrapping on a hook it does make a nice round body. one problem i didnt expect was that the machine has to clamped to a table for brushing out the brush . same problem i had using a dubbing loop off my vise [pedestal]. i am still playing with it but starting to think the dubbing loop is less time. and furling eyelash yarn is an answer to making a longer fly without wire links.
  7. rob you were correct. i was hoping to make a brush[yarn] that i could furl, out of satin fibers. closest i can come is to make a longdubbing loop at the bend and furl for tail. i may steal the idea of a board to lay the materials on thou.
  8. i am wondering if thread is used, it cant be cut or it will unravel. some use flex glue which may help. i am thinking a 5-6 inch long brush could just be tying on the shank and them palmered around. my idea to try is to make a brush with braid line or polyester about 6-7 inches, keep it sparse and furl it for a tail. rich
  9. does anyone do alot of brush making? i am thinking of getting a brush maker set up , are there ones better than others? do you use wire or thread?thanks and happy new year

  19. report on the revolver vs whopper plopper my 6 inch [plopper has been getting attacked visiously lately on some small ponds , most get off.. ive noticed the revolver by the googan squad has a lower pitch . last night i took my grandson out for fishing before school starts wed. he did along cast withe the revolver, got smashed right away. fish went into weeds andit was a long pull of a bucket full of weds and fish. finally beached the line broke. tony jumped down to get the 18inch bass and the lure. let the fish go and gave me thelure. upon looking at all the weeds another 19b ass was found among the green. i can only imagine his mind wont be on school work today
