  5. Thirty members came out on a Friday evening and nearly filled the conference room at Bass Pro Shops. We had two quite competent fishing guides fill us in on their insights to the smallmouth fishing in their areas.Austin Adduci spoke of Lake Michigan and the Kankakee river while Abe Downs spoke about the Wisconsin river.Following a question and answer session we broke into a more informal discussion format. To close out the meeting we held our raffle which again was quite sucessful and a lot of fun for everyone present. Following the meeeting a group of us went to Famous Daves for refreshments and to continue our discussions. What I find most heartning is that we are seeing more new and fresh faces at our meetings and outings and that's a good thing.

  9. Scott Meister who is handling the Du Page county trout fishing for kids program this year got in touch with me today. He asked if we could again supply a few volunteers to help out on Saturday March 30th from 7:30 till noon. Those of us that have done this in the past years have really enjoyed doing this and I am sure will again.I am going to have breakfast at the Sunmist restaurant again this year at 6:30am before heading off to Woodale Grove Forest Preserve around 7:30am.Feel free to join me if you wish. trout fishing for kids http://www.dupageforest.com/District_News/News_Releases/2013/Trout_Fishing_for_Kids_March_30_at_Grove_Lake.aspx Sunmist restaurant http://sunmistrestaurant.com/location Ed Buric

  14. I attended the clinic held in Aurora last month and I can say that Mike is very good.Really knows his stuff about canoe camping.Make sure that you check out the helmgramite fly that he ties.
  15. I also would like to thank all those who volunteered to put on the Blowout and to all those that attended for another fantastic evening. I would also like to take this opportunity to invite all the new members that joined this year along with those members that haven't yet becomed involved in our events to do just that. We have a good number of varied events through out the year that should appeal to everyone.Between our informational meetings, conservation projects.fishing outings and social gatherings there is definitely something for everyone. 16. WOW! did we thai one on last night.Last night's meeting far surpassed my wildest expectations.22 members turned out on a week night in February for what turned out to be a very enjoyable evening. Tom Loo was beyond gracious to us.Our tables were well stocked with delicious appetizers and soft drinks.Even my ever present coffee cup was kept full by his efficient waitstaff.I have not had Thai food before and I was very well pleased with everything that I had to eat. The camaradie among everyone there was just great. There was a great deal of fishing talk going on with plans for fishing get togethers this year being made.We finished off the evening with a very successful raffle with some really nice prizes being won.At the end of the evening the consensus was that we have to do this again and we will. My personal thanks to everyone that contributed to the success of last night's meeting in particular to Tom Loo. Ed Buric
