  1. Can't believe this is good publicity for Mustad.
  2. Sorry to hear about Paddle and Trail, I really liked the store and the people there. However Im sure the competition is steep with all the yaks being sold by the large box stores. Its not easy for the mom and pop stores. Is there still any way to salvage the Riverbassin tourney?
  3. Im out of town next weekend. Selfishly hoping it might be continued again due to high water so I can make the rescheduled event. If it goes, have fun guys. Your efforts have obviously proven fruitful on the Fox. Welcome to the ISA Brian.
  4. Thanks for suggestions AC. My feet seem to be taking more of a pounding this year. I'm going through band aid wrappers like candy. I'll give the neoprene socks a try and see if they help.
  5. Any suggestions for footwear for wading that would help prevent blisters, callus, rash, while wading?
  6. Thanks John, with the fairly stable weather pattern ahead looks like a good time to get on the Vermillion.
  7. John, hows the Vermillion looking now? Hoping to do a kayak/fly fishing trip this summer.
  8. Gordon, would the Yakima load two kayaks?
  9. Dick, great idea with the anchor. Now all Jim needs to do is grab a rod and cold drink and blast the song "Pontoon" on the speakers while reeling in a lunker.
  10. Congrats Cody! I think Jay Angle had the old record and will have to let him know. Hope to make it on the 28th if not before to fish this wonderful fishing lake. Thanks for posting Rich.
  11. Great tips and analysis for the kayak angler, Bterrill, so much of what you say rings true from my kayak fishing experiences, thanks alot.
  12. Have to paddle like hell to get through them.
  13. Terry, whats the garbage barge look like? Can you lease it out?
  14. Great idea, I'm grabbing one soon. Thanks Ryan.
  15. Ron, Im sure the Village means well in clearing the undergrowth but doesn't realize the effect. Perhaps they simply need to be educated on the issue and can accomplish what they want without disturbing the vegetation/runoff. Not sure the best way to approach this but maybe attend a village council meeting and offer our insight?
  16. I noted the same shore clearing going on but didn't realize it was being done by the Village. I agree Ron, this should be stopped. We have enough silt in the river and need policies that prevent river sedimentation, not promote it. Anything I can do to help I'm ready to do so. Great fish too!
  17. Anyone who wants to float/fish Sugar Creek this summer let me know. Hopefully the water levels are improved as I recall Bterrill mentioned the water levels were really down last year. I follow his blog and he is off to a terrific start this year. Was planning to do a weekend trip and base in Crawfordsville unless someone has better suggestion.
  18. Terry, wife and I are planning to attend the picnic. Will bring coosa if anyone else is interested in doing float and water levels permit. If there is anything else we can bring or you need help with anything let me know.
  19. Interesting video that reminded me of similar situation. I was bass fishing with Jay Angle on Lake Shabbona a few years ago when a muskie engulfed a shad Jay had hooked on a plastic worm. Jay had the muskie to the boat and near my net when the muskie let go of the shad. Speaking of adrenaline rush. ! The shad didn't fare too well though.
  20. Pretty impressive.
  21. I really enjoyed Austin and Abe's presentations and hope to schedule trips with both this year. The barbecue and conversation following at Famous Daves were excellent as well. Thanks alot Ed for arranging such a nice event.
