  1. Despite less than ideal conditions, we went ahead and did the cleanup. The merry band of volunteers consisted of John L, B. Bonney, Ronk, Dan Basore, and yours truly. Managed to get a fair amount of crap in a couple of hours. You could undoubtedly do this every week and never catch up. Ces't La Vie---consider it a small victory. Thank you, gentlemen, for responding to my weekday call. Some pics : note stuffed baby seal toy.
  2. Merry Men of the Cleanup---I read some bad reviews of the Sandpiper so for those of you interested in breakfast, lets meet at the Warrenville Reastaurant and Pancake House ( 2S505 Rt. 59 Warrenville 630-393-9058 ) at 8:00 AM. This is just south of 59 and Batavia Rd. This is only a couple of miles from the bridges at Rt 38 and Garys Mill Rd. which is where I saw the greatest concentration of junk on my float last Fri. See you in the morning ! Eating at home ? see you about 9:00
  3. Hey Don, Have you heard back from Mr. Labrose ? For those of you involved in this (next Tue. the 28th ) Tell me if you think this is a starting point: We could try to start the cleanup around 9:00 AM to accommodate everyone's drive time --Norm M has a fairly long drive I think. If anyone is up for breakfast, we could meet at 8:00---I need a suggestion for a good restaurant around Rt 38 and Rt 59, not to be a food snob but not a "fast-food chain" joint. Let me know what ya'll think. Gordon
  4. Norm, try to convince him to try to make a Twin Spin !!!!
  5. " While your walking and picking you can be pounding." Why do I find this statement amusing ?
  6. Great, lets shoot for Tue. April 28---if we can get a majority of ya'll to make it. GP
  7. Thanks Norm ---2 people can do a lot-----------a few more bodies would be nice................
  8. For those of you who are retired, unemployed, or who don't work a 9-5 schedule, I would be willing to try to organize a weekday cleanup ( ala Don R. ) on the West Branch of the Dupe. Best days for me are Mon.-Wed. Weeks of April 27 or May 4 look good right now. Any suggestions on areas in dire need would be appreciated. Gordon
  9. .................No one around for miles.................. .
  10. I'm avoiding pictures of me holding fish ( mostly )
  11. No Mike, as a 35 year member of the "4-string nation" I used the "bass pluck" !!
  12. Hey Gregg, I was working at the Wisconsin River Alliance booth from 1 to 5. Too bad we didn't cross paths !
  13. I don't know if I missed this in an earlier post, but it appears that the Shorewood gauge on the Dupe will be discontinued in June due to lack of funding. This link will take you to the page that has contact info to voice your concern, http://waterdata.usgs.gov/il/nwis/uv/?site..._cd=00065,00060 I use this gauge all of the time and I can think of a few other ISA'ers who prolly take a gander from time to time as well...................
  14. I would have to add that a 4" watermelon or black w/blue fleck Senko rigged with no weight would be only slightly behind the tube in preference....................................
  15. 3.5-4" Tube, olive w/ blue fleck ---60 degree eye, 1/8 oz. jig
  16. Rosemont '06 Rego and Jozwiak ( especially Jozwiak ) verbally beat me into submission......................................
  17. Howzabout ya put me down for Fri. from 2-5. I could also conceivably do Wed. at the same time. Fri. is better though. Gordon
