  1. In November we are going to have a second meeting for the month, this one on the north side so that our members in that area can have an opportunity to participate. This meeting will be held at the Dick's sporting goods store in Schaumburg Il Saturday November 13th starting at 5:30 PM
  2. Thank's for the mention Mike but Scott is correct, you are far too humble about your own efforts. That said, I was humbled by Craig's dedication to what he was doing,I don't think he took a break all day even when I offered to relieve him for a while. As I have said before it's not work if you believe in and love what you are doing Ed Buric
  3. Sorry to hear of your loss.please accept my condolences. Ed B
  4. John L,RonK,Eugene C and myself were the 4 members that participated, needless to say we were all disappointed that we did not get to see the now infamous wenona.unfortunately there are no pictures due to [a] man rule #17 I didn't want to expose my camera to the pouring rain [c] the lightning was playing havoc with my auto focus. That being said, this was probably the most enjoyable outing I have been on this year. After we got off the river we all stopped for a very enjoyable lunch. Ed B P.S never mind what the weatherman says bring your rain jacket
  5. actually you can catch a fish that size on a fly rod
  6. Paul I believe John L will be there with his kayak but no matter what,we will make sure that everyone is accommodated.I sure hope that you can make it Ed B
  7. Let's have a pizza party to celebrate the end of the Summer season of smallmouth fishing. We will get together at Papa Paseros Pizza at 63rd and Cass Avenue in Westmont Illinois at 7:00 PM.This will be our opportunity to wind down after another tough season, tell a few tall tales and talk smallmouth fishing with your friends.
  8. This year we will float a different section of the Fox than we have done previously. This year we will float the section from Yorkville to Silver Springs State Park rather than the lower section.Hopefully though not as scenic the fishing will be much better on this stretch of river . We will meet 7:00 AM at Freeman Sports,129 Hydraulic Street Yorkville Il.We should begin our car shuttle around 7:30 and hopefully be on the river by 8:00 AM. For those that would like to rent a canoe or kayak freeman has them available. You can reserve one by calling freeman Sports at 630 553 0515. This is always a fun trip and Fall is always the best time of the year to be on the river Ed Buric
  9. Jim Kast,Mike H and Don R showed up after we separated.John Loebach Matt and I each had one on with a quick release and that was it,I'm not sure what Jim,Mike or Don did.Other than that it was hot. I really did like the idea of an afternoon/evening outing however next time we will start more toward evening. Ed Buric
  10. Glad to see so much interest in this outing, somehow I just feel the river gods are going to be smiling upon us tomorrow. Ed B

It would have been nice to have seen some of these boats at the Float Your Boat event held at Silver lake last weekend. Ed B
  12. Thanks John I'm glad that you enjoyed the outing I, know that I sure did.And yes, I do wish that more members would have taken advantage of the information to be gained at this event.I also would have liked to have seen more members bring out their favorite boat and show off their modifications.

  17. A first of its kind outing this coming Saturday July 31st at Silver lake in Blackwell forest preserve of Du Page County. This is an opportunity to show off your boat and try out the boat of someone else that peaks your interest. We will begin the event at 10:00 am This is also a great opportunity for any member without a boat to try out different types of boats to find out what type best suits him. Since our rivers will be blown out for a while this should be a great opportunity to get the boat out, have a lot of fun and maybe even get a little fishing in. Be aware that Du Page forest preserve launch fees will apply.7.00 for residents - 9.00 for non residents Ed Buric Ps I hear a rumor that Steve K might bring his famous 17 foot wenona with sponsons and trolling motor Just a sample of the boats you might see
  18. Jeff It was a pleasure to meet you also,I have no doubt that we will be seeing more of you in the future. If you could make it I know you would really get a lot out of Saturdays cast and compare. Ed B
  19. We had a relatively low turnout for this event just Ed La Rocca,Chris Serafin and myself.Mike Clifford made an appearance but did not stay to fish. While the fishing was very slow Norm took us under his wing and gave us an advanced course on how to fish the Kankakee river.I know that I can speak for both Ed and Chris in expressing our thanks to Norm.He was beyond gracious in sharing his knowledge of the Kankakee river Ed B
  20. with 31 eager participants we did get all of the planting done before the heat of the day became unbearable. We then enjoyed a welcome lunch break and socializing afterwards. Some members did go fishing afterwards but I don't believe that they caught more than a few fish. Thanks to John Loebach for all the hard work that he puts into this event each year. Ed B
  21. thanks Norm your input is valuable to those of us who are not that familiar with the K3. Ed
