  6. Twenty three members showed up on a grey Saturday afternoon and were rewarded with one of the best smallmouth presentations that I have ever seen.Joe Cornwalls presentation was the most entertaining and informative program that I have seen in a very long time. Those that missed this meeting really missed out on a great learning experience . My thanks to John Loebach for setting us up with a really quality speaker for our last meeting of the winter season.I strongly recommend to all our members to make a point of making some meetings next off season, our meetings are only going to get better and better. Ed Buric Don't forget we have an outing on Lake Michigan this coming Saturday.

  11. Capt. Steiger did indeed present a timely and very informative seminar on Lake Michigan smallmouth fishing. He kept everyones rapt attention with his detailed information on where, when, why and how to fish for Lake Michigan smallmouth. What impressed me the most though was his generous sharing of information one on one with anyone that asked.Hopefully we will put this new knowledge to good use at our May 1st outing at Burnham harbor I counted over 40 members and guests in attendance which is a good turnout for a meeting. Thanks to John Loebach for running a successful raffle and all who attended for making this meeting so successful. I hope everyone will turn out for the April meeting with Joe Cornwall as our featured speaker, this should be another very informative meeting for anyone that fishes for smallmouth. Ed Buric I know some pictures were taken last night feel free to post them if you have them.
  12. A reminder that the DuPage county forest preserve district has asked for volunteers to help with their trout fishing for kids program. This will be held at the south shore of Wood Dale Grove Lake,Wood Dale Grove Forest Preserve on Saturday April 3rd from 6:00am untill noon.Volunteers will help participating youngsters to catch stocked trout. Getting youngsters involved is always one of the most rewarding volunteer activities that we have.If you can't be there for the start of this program you will be welcome at any time, just tell them you are a volunteer and mention Don LaBrose Wood Dale Grove is about 1 mile North of Lake Street on Wood Dale road
  13. This will be a good opportunity for those of our members that are located further North to participate in a very rewarding volunteer activity. We talk about getting kids interested in the outdoors, this is an opportunity to make it happen. Ed Buric

  15. Don LaBrose of the DuPage County Forest Preserves has asked for some volunteers to help with his Trout Fishing For Kids program. This event will be held at the Wood Dale Grove Forest Preserve On Saturday April 3rd from 6:00 am until noon. The Forest Preserves will provide the fishing rods and reels and also the bait.Volunteers will be needed to assist the kids bait up and to help in landing all of their catch.Last year Don said there were over a hundred kids involved so the more help we can give the more sucessful this program will be. 22. We had 10 members and 2 special guests [Jims wife and daughter ] attend our Feburary meeting. The meeting was as advertised a casual breakfast with our members, talking fishing, future club activities and of course the return of the infamous stoolie to Steve. It was good to meet Chris I only wish I could have had more time to talk with him,I will make a point of it at the blowout. I think everyone enjoyed themselves and I again urge all members to attend as many of our functions as they can as that is what makes our functions successful. Ed Buric
