  4. Kid's going to be in the Fishing Hall of Fame by the time he's 10 years old. I just bet Jonn's got him a Zebco sponsership already.
  5. Also make sure you arent wearing any small patch of red material, it could be mistaken for a gobblers beard. As a matter of fact you might want to invest a few bucks for one of those orange vests that they sell at the Walmart/K-Mart stores. Better safe than shot.
  6. I havent had any issues with loading.
  7. I havent fished there for years but when I did, on foot, the rip rap at the dam produced some large green fish. There are some other access points around the lake but I dont remember them producing anything except a few small sunnies.
  8. For poaching? Even one hundred and fifty dollars is to cheap. Five hundred dollars and confiscate all the gear involved, plus the vehicle. Not that I have an opinion.
  9. I have been browsing the spring catalogs for a pair of waders for a friend and Cabellas has a large selection. In trying to pick something out for him I took a look at the features on my waders that I think are important. Breathable waders are a must, no more hot neoprenes for me. I want a pocket on the inside of my waders at chest level with a zipper. If its somewhat water proof so much the better. Why? I carry my camera and my cars remote door lock there. I have slipped a few times and gotton water in my waders but was able to get the camera out without incident. Built in rock guards. What a pleasure. I put on my boots slip the guards down over my ankles and fasten the hook on to my laces and forget about them until its time to take them off. Oh yes, with the attached guards you dont lose them. Shoes get what you can afford. I like felt soles with studs. The studs really help on our muddy banks. Dont forget a belt, most waders come with one, if yours didnt buy one at the store before you leave. Safety first.
  10. Walden Books and other chain book stores have them in stock. At least the books for the Mid-west. Dont forget you will also need one for Ind., Wisc., Minn., Mo., Ark., Mich........................

    What's Up?

I have always enjoyed my time spent at OMC and talking or listening to Joseph. It is my hope that Joseph will someday return to supporting the ISA and its flyfisherman. Until then he will be missed.
  20. Rob, any chance you could do that pic again with a white or neutral color background? It would show the true colors of the flies alot better. Nice looking flies by the way.
  21. Those are pretty cool. I saw them in the "Outdoors" magazine today. I even thought about buying one. But rocks are better: Rocks are always laying around, rocks are free and you dont have to carry them around. Plus rocks are kinda cool to
  22. I purchased an EZE-lap sharpener from Joseph at OMC and spent an hour learning how to use it. It works really well, no more excuses about dull hooks now.
  23. I guess we call them "Outings". We did have one on the Rock River this summer and at some of our outings members stay overnight at campgrounds. If you watch our calender, members are invited to all outings. Bring a group over you will be welcome. The Vermillion River Outing at Danville would be a good one and its reasonably close.
  24. One of our members,Tim Sefried, bought one of the lighter weights but he still is looking for a reel. Its killing me, I want to try it out.
  25. You know you just cant go anywhere in the smallmouth community and not run in to that smilin face. You are starting to get a reputation Jonn, congrats.
