  1. This rule MUST be ammended to read: No music playing device shall be tolerated on any stream or river. To violate this rule means the immediate dunking of said violator and especially the offending electronic device. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!
  2. I wasnt wondering anything , but that is a darn good question. I guess we will we have to wait until the water goes down to find out. Steve are you close to that area? Can you check it out and report back?
  3. You made it the Walsh concert???? Fantastic! Great video by the way.
  4. Great news! But, we need to watch our backs. These large companies arent known for giving up to easily. The article in this months Midwest Fly Fisherman about the bad shape of the Great Lakes was a real eye opener for me. I had assumed, like most people, that everything was well and good in that system.
  5. I think you have hit the nail on the head with that observation. Very good point.
  6. Ha! I was fishing Sugar Creek in Indiana Tuesday and noted the same behavior with a soft shell. Came to the same conclusion.
  7. Yep, I will be there. I plan to bring my son-in-law to lend a hand.
  8. Iam fishing 6# Mean Green this season and I love it. Its super limp, I can fill my spinning reel spools almost to the top and it never comes off. Strength is great. No gripes with it except visibility. I cant see the line all the time, depending on the angle/direction of the sun. How is the visibility of the Evolution.
  9. On Lake Clinton????????? Cool! This is the first I have heard of someone catching a smallie on the lake. Were you fly fishing?
  10. Yes I plan on helping, looking forward to it.
  11. Mike, I plan to be there and I may have one other person with me. Where to meet at the Lake, time, other details??
  12. Mackinaw River and Picnic Meet: Goodfield, Illinois. I74, exit 112. Breakfast at the Busy Corner Cafe Time: 6:30 A.M. to eat, leave around 7:00 A.M. to fish. Meet back at Harold Hohulins house for lunch between 12:30 and 1:00. Bring your own meat to barbeque and a side dish to share. Wade trip. Call Jonn Graham at 309-399-7055 if you plan to attend.
  13. Green River, Ron Scott Memorial Outing CANCELED DUE TO HEAVY RAIN! Call Jonn Graham at 309-399-7055 if you have questions or plan to try it out on your own.
  14. Scott, I also use that style and I really like them. I prefer clipping them to the brim of my hat when not in use that way I dont have the extra weight on my sunglasses. Good product but a real bear to find if you happen to drop them in the river.
  15. I really wish I could have been there but other commitments kept me away. Did you shock up any darters or rare fish. I dont own a pair of neoprenes anymore, how bad was Dan's experience with the breathables? Would he do it again?
  16. After taking a macro shot along the shore line this guy decided to join me in my canoe. Forunately he didnt "charge" and I was able to beat the crap out of him with my paddle. Surprisingly I didnt beat a hole in the boat
  17. I dont think breathable waders would protect you in that mess. Get out the 1/4" thick neoprene duck waders.
  18. Mike, are there any guidelines as to where you have posted signs in the past? Public, private accesses? I have seen them in the central region at public accesses but I dont recall seeing any at rural bridges that we frequent.
  19. Don, what is the brand name on the qwik dry undies? I usually dont get in that deep but on occasion it happens.
  20. I dont know Eric?? I think it may be wading wet over wearing the waders. I havent seen anyone in waders at Central outings. How about it? A little impromtu survey. Do you wade wet or do you use your waders? Let us know what region are you most likely to be fishing in.
  21. What an experience to have. I was mezmerized just watching the video, twice. I can not imagine being there.
  22. Sounds like you are on the right track with wader care. When I get back from a day trip I like to hang my waders on a suit hanger outside and spray them down with the hose. I even have a little soft bristled brush I use to knock off the gross stuff. Only one other thing left to do, make sure they are dry before you store them. After I think mine are dry I wait one more day to make sure. Another hint: when storing fold them loosely dont scrunch them up and but them back in the box. I lay mine on top of my wading shoes and store in a dark dry cabinet. A word about Simms, I have worn them for years and never had a leak or any other issues. It looks like Scott may have gotten a lemon this time. It is suprising that Simms didnt stand behind their gaurantee, especially since you do pay a premimum for their product.
