  1. Appreciate words of prayer and encouragement from my ISA colleagues. Who knows . . . I may just show up at an outing. Steve
  2. It is with a heavy heart that I confess that I have been diagnosed with ALS (aka Lou Gehrig's Disease). Have lost 20 pounds (losing more daily) and am growing weaker by the day. That said, I have a fly tying table with all the trimmings that I hope someone will be willing to purchase. If interested, please send your email address to me at sjkollmann@gmail.com and I will send you pictures of my outfit. Most appreciative !!! Steve Kollmann
  3. Sorry to have missed this year's event . . . my wife and I were vacationing two weeks visiting four Hawaiian islands. Looks like another successful gathering . . . plan to be there next week (after attending multiple outdoor fishing events once the weather cooperates) !!!
  4. Sorry . . . will not attend since I already own a Wenonah 17' Spirit II kevlar canoe equipped with two 8 oz. bent shaft paddles, a trolling motor, sponses, and a portable depth/fish locator . . . all of which my wife accuses me of being over-equipped!!!
  5. Change of plans . . . Tennis Clinic being held at my club on the same day. Sorry to miss the ISA outing . . . see you at another event.
  6. Rich . . . why would my private mail box not accept your message? Is it due to an ever load factor?
  7. Count me in . . . with neither my canoe nor my walleye fishing boat in tow.
  8. Rich . . . if you would be so kind, let me know when "the bite" is on. Most appreciative!!! Steve
  9. Rich . . . on a related note, what's the status of the "bite" on Shabbona Lake? Just learned that my boat will be finished in preparation for Spring fishing, so I'm anxious to get out.
  10. Regrets that I couldn't make it . . . other family plans. Trust it was a most enjoyable gathering.
  11. Sorry . . . but turns out following my wife's shoulder surgery yesterday, she needs me to provide catering service. That said, I regret that I cannot attend this evening's event.
  12. My thanks for hosting a meeting in the northerly suburbs, Tom . . . living in Northbrook, most meetings are too far away.
  13. For reasons cited in earlier posts, be quite cautious. I have an 18' Deep V boat with a 150 hp, 9.9 hp kicker motor, and a bow trolling motor . . . and I only launch when the lake is exceedingly calm. It's not the waves that are typically a problem . . . it's the swells. With a 17' boat and 90 hp motor, don't throw caution to the wind.
  14. Having worked the Rosemont and Schaumburg shows, I favor discontinuing our booth at Rosemont and devote our energies and volunteer support to the Schaumburg show. In my opinion, the Rosemont show proved to be a loser . . . unless, of course, we gained other new members on the days that I didn't work.
  15. Scott . . . I'll cover on Friday afternoon from 2:45 pm until closing at 9:00 pm per Jim's request. OK? Steve
  16. Having worked 6 hours today with Rich, guess I can cover for 7 hours on Friday when Gordon leaves at 2:45 pm. Steve
  17. Let me know when I can serve at the Schaumburg Show. Always willing to pitch in and apply my recruiting skills.
  18. paddlin steve k email me about wednesday your pm is not avaliable rich mc Rich . . . I just sent you an email, including my corrected home phone number. Steve
  19. I've already offered my services at the two shows, so I'm reminding the facilitators that I too am available. Also experienced as I've worked the shows in the past.
  20. Rich . . . a group of tiers were congregating at a sports shop in Arlington Heights (exact name escapes me), but for some reason which I don't recall as communicated to the group members, the leaders of the group no longer spearheaded the effort. Steve
  21. Lombard is much too far from Northbrook. Would like to see fly tying sessions resume for us northern Illinois residents.
  22. Rich . . . tried sending you the following email, but received a message that you cannot receive emails. So I'll attempt to contact you via this post. Good Day, Rich . . . question for you. Does Shabbona Lake experience a "Fall Bite" of crappie, bass, walleye and muskie? If so, please keep me apprised . . . plan to bring my boat out this Fall, and if you're available, would enjoy have you onboard. Maybe Jude could join us as well. Steve Kollmann sjkollmann@gmail.com
  23. Planning to take my two 5-year old grandsons shore fishing for panfish (or whatever other species bite) somewhere near Algonquin. Not familiar with the area. Suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
  24. With Dana's endorsement, hopefully my issue will arrive in the mail tomorrow.
