Mike G Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 In today's fishing world a digital is almost as important as shoes. But there are a lot of models to choose from. I am looking for something in the $100-200 range but might go higher. What are youur experiences? Quote
TMontalbano Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 I love my Cannon D10. Picture quality is superb. It has been in snow, water falls and mud. Great camera. Quote
chrisserafin Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 I have a great Olympus model that is water proof...don't know the exact brand offhand, but it was $350 Quote

It takes decent pictures, but the battery life stinks. Quote

Hey, Mike, I also like my Canon DC 10 a lot; does everything I need it to do, even takes underwater pix, and is waterproof down to ... deeper than I go! Quote
ronk Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 My Olympus 550WP is good.It has 10mp,3x optical zoom & 2.5" monitor. Quote
markd Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 I have a Pentax Optio W10. Has not failed me yet. I think there are several models to choose from in the W (waterproof) series. Quote
Mike Chronik Posted June 7, 2010 Report Posted June 7, 2010 Olympus - Stylus 770 SW - Waterproof to 33 ft and Shockproof to 5 ft. Have this camera for 8 years used in salt and fresh water as well as swimming pools. Underwater quality is good if water is clear. Takes stills and videos but have to set up before you go into the water. Quote
Mark K Posted July 22, 2010 Report Posted July 22, 2010 I have an Olympus stylus 1050 sw. The only thing good about it is it's waterproof. Other than that it sucks. It just cannot handle any kind of contrasty situations and totally screws up the exposure almost every time. I retouch everything in Photoshop. the worst camera I've ever owned. Plus Olympus uses an XD card also pain. Quote
Mike G Posted July 22, 2010 Author Report Posted July 22, 2010 Thanks to all for comments. I got a Fuji XP 10. So far the price is right, and the portability is good. I will be using it for a while on their auto setting before I report any thoughts. Now I can make you look at everything I catch. Quote
