Terry Dodge Posted August 26, 2013 Report Posted August 26, 2013 AUTUMN ON THE KISHWAUKEE RIVER Saturday, September 28 We'll start off of course at the Cherry Valley Cafe for some good breakfast and smallmouth talk around 8:30am After the good food we'll shuttle some cars around and try to start the float by 10am. This will probably be a full day float so be sure to pack a lunch. More info as the date draws near. Please let us know if you plan to attend. http://illinoissmallmouthalliance.net/forums/index.php?app=calendar&module=calendar§ion=view&do=showevent&event_id=625 September 29, 2012 Quote

Should I think about bringing my bike instead? Quote
Terry Dodge Posted September 15, 2013 Author Report Posted September 15, 2013 Would like to have cars shuttled around and begin the float at 10am. Of course we'll be meeting for breakfast beforehand at the Cherry Valley Cafe. mikea Posted September 15, 2013 Report Posted September 15, 2013 I am on the fence, I need to float this river before the leaf drop. Quote
Terry Dodge Posted September 22, 2013 Author Report Posted September 22, 2013 less than a week away from the Kish float. Who's in? Quote
Guest Jim S Posted September 23, 2013 Report Posted September 23, 2013 less than a week away from the Kish float. Who's in? My sinking Viking ship will be there. Quote
mikea Posted September 23, 2013 Report Posted September 23, 2013 less than a week away from the Kish float. Who's in? Looking good for me. Quote
jessewade Posted September 23, 2013 Report Posted September 23, 2013 I will be there with a plus one. I will have two yaks on the racks and probably be able to get two or three depending in the bed of my truck for transport if needed. Quote
Terry Dodge Posted September 25, 2013 Author Report Posted September 25, 2013 I'm thinking we'll just float from Cherry Valley's Bauman Park to New Milford's Atwood Park. That's an all dayer. Jesse - Thanks for the transport offer. Quote

Jesse - Thanks for the transport offer. I will have to pull off at the South Branch at Blackhawk, I am a DD for a pub crawl and will need to head back. Quote
Terry Dodge Posted September 25, 2013 Author Report Posted September 25, 2013 We could pull out at the half way point which would be Kish F.P. I was wondering if maybe an all day float this time of year might not be such a good idea. Anybody elses thoughts? Quote
Paul Trybul Posted September 25, 2013 Report Posted September 25, 2013 I'm in plus one. Weather & water conditions look good. They are calling for a low of 57 when you wake up the am and then up to low 80's in the afternoon. All day probably won't work for me either but there is nothing wrong with having options. We are all captains of our own ships. Take out at Kish FP for 1/2 dayers and all dayers can go for it to Atwood or even the airport area. I love river smallmouth fishing in the month of September and this nice little warming trend should be good for the fishing. I like using lures I can cast a long distance in the low clear water. Walk the dog topwaters have been working good for me with a plastic follow up bait for the ones that hit and miss on the topwater. Quote
Guest Jim S Posted September 25, 2013 Report Posted September 25, 2013 Half dayers at Kishwaukee sounds good. Quote
ericg Posted September 25, 2013 Report Posted September 25, 2013 Half dayers at Kishwaukee sounds good. Will be there with my Coosa, this is probably what I'll do. ericg Quote
mikea Posted September 26, 2013 Report Posted September 26, 2013 I'm a no go, working the weekend. Quote
Guest Jim S Posted September 26, 2013 Report Posted September 26, 2013 I'm a no go, working the weekend. Too bad, I was really looking forward to see your boat on the Kishwaukee. Really liked the set up at Shabbona and wanted to see it in the smaller water. Quote
Terry Dodge Posted September 26, 2013 Author Report Posted September 26, 2013 There's that Tim kid. No, it is not going to rain until late Saturday night/early Sunday morning. Are you going or what? Last I heard you said that you had hoped to make it. Quote
Terry Dodge Posted September 26, 2013 Author Report Posted September 26, 2013 Would anybody have a problem if we were to bump up the breakfast time to 8am instead of 8:30am ? Let me know. It's suppose to be a nice day with highs in the low 80's and a 60% chance of rain showers late Saturday night and into Sunday. Guest Jim S Posted September 26, 2013 Report Posted September 26, 2013 8 sounds just fine to me, day looks to be pretty awesome weather wise too. Quote
