  1. As most of you know, we run a slide show during the Blowout featuring pictures of our members. I’m still looking for more pictures for this year. Photos from ISA events you attended, or fish pictures, send them to me (horizontal shots work best). isalliance@sbcglobal.net
  2. Those who’ve been to past Blowouts know that we run a slideshow throughout the day with pictures of members catches. If you’d like your pictures to be part of the show, email me some of your favorite photos and I’ll include them. Send to; isalliance@sbcglobal.net
  3. Planning and organizing events for the Chicago region is a very important job. But, it isn’t all that difficult and doesn’t take up a lot of time. If anyone could step up and help out, we’d really appreciate it. You’d get lots of help from the other officers, and a few other perks. Post here or contact Bart Durham if you’d like to try.
  4. Sorry to hear about your wife, glad that it wasn’t more serious. Thank you so much for being there for us. You’ve done a terrific job!
  5. Click on the link above for information and tickets
  6. Jeff Tallis, who has been so generous at past Blowouts donating St Croix rods, let me know that he will be bringing 6 St. Croix Avid X AXS70MXF Spinning rods paired with hand selected spinning reels from Shimano, Acuma, Lew's, Diawa etc. Great combinations perfect for the raffle. Also a change from last year, we'll have a new caterer, Steamboat BBQ, from Wheaton. Don't wait too long to buy your tickets, just click on the 2020 Bronzeback Blowout heading above. See you there!
  7. I haven’t been there in years. I’m looking forward to it.
  8. Welcome Rich, I’m the one you spoke to at the show. You don’t actually have to sign in, but when Ed posts about it, you can say hello and let him know you’ll be there. I’ll see you there.
  9. I’ll be in the booth. Show hours are Thursday and Friday 12-8, Saturday 10-7, and Sunday 10-5. Schaumburg Convention Center 1551 North Thoreau Dr, Schaumburg If anybody is around the Show Sunday at closing, we usually go to Tom Loo’s after if you’d like to join us.
  10. Besides being a nice article on the Mazon, it reminded me of what a wonderful writer John Husar was and how much I miss his outdoor column.
  11. That axe was made on the “Forged in Fire” TV show. It is so sharp, you can cut down a tree with one swing of the axe.
  12. We all were having such a nice time, nobody thought to pull out a camera! Thanks to everyone who came out.
  13. Looking forward to it. Remember, for members, pizza is on us!
  14. Jim Crowley will be the featured speaker. I’m not sure who the conservation speaker will be yet.
  15. All of the outdoor shows happen after the first of the year. This one, is earlier than all the others, so.......it’s The Early Show.
  16. Robert Thompson is an Emmy awarding winning producer currently living and working in Chicago, IL. A former Michigander, Thompson grew up in the north east part of the state as an avid fisherman and found his way to a fly rod in 2004. Fly fishing soon became an obsession and in 2009, he combined his background in film & television and his love for fly fishing to create fly fishing documentaries. His first film Night of the Hex was released in 2010, followed closely by Musky County in 2011, Heart of the Driftless in 2012, The River in 2014, Spey Daze in 2017 and latest release Summer Haze in 2019. All of his films are set in the Midwest and parts of four have been featured in the Fly Fishing Film Tour. Robert Thompson will talk about his experience filming around some of the best locations in the Midwest. Dennis Potter owner of Riverhouse Fly Co. has patterns in the Umpqua catalog. His tying theater will be at the show & he will demo his unique patterns.

  18. I’m so glad that even though the fishing was less than stellar, everyone had a good time and so many have already signed up for next years Road Trip already.
