  1. We’re back at it. The Northwest Region hosted a Kishwaukee River float trip on Saturday, April 24th. This was the first official outings event the ISA has held since the pandemic hit shortly after the 2020 Bronzeback Blowout. We had a total of 8 casters covering 3 sections of the Kish from seven different boats. Myself, Eugene, Steve and Jim floated the mid section of the Kish with Eugene having the hot reel for the day pulling in a total that dipped well into double-digits. All in this group landed smallies and all enjoyed an absolutely beautiful day with beautiful weather. Bart and Eric G. took their kayaks to Belvidere and did a float of the Kishwaukee north branch while Paul and Kevin D. headed south to toss theirs into a section of the Kish south of Rockford. Those guys will have to fill you all in on how they all did with the catching and releasing on their sections of river. Certainly could not have asked for a better day.

  3. I’m coming up with 7. Looks like there are a total of seven (7) interested in this Saturday’s float. We will need to split if these numbers stay the same or grow even larger.
  4. St. Croix is fighting to fill all the stores with their rods after most stores we’re shutdown last year. Jeff speaks very highly of Chippewa River rods.
  5. No proof required. You should have a mask on your person just to be safe.
  6. Good. A year without Ben is like a beer without pop when you open it. Flat.
  7. Welcome! Take advantage of all that you can. We have a great group of folks here at the ISA that won’t bat an eye at helping out with your goal of chasing down Illinois smallmouth.

  13. Menominee River presentation by Dick Dragiewicz March 24, 2021 at 7:00 P.M. Many ISA members know about the terrific smallmouth bass fishing the Menominee River offers. Unfortunately, these ambitious bass, that we like to catch and release, are being threatened by a proposed open pit and underground metallic sulfide mine that a foreign company wants to build on the river’s shoreline. The toxic pollution from it will contaminate the river and Lake Michigan. With polluted water the bass that we like to pursue won’t be there anymore. Join us at ISA’s virtual meeting on March 24, 2021 at 7:00 P.M to learn more about the Menominee River’s great bass fishing opportunities and what you can do to help protect the Menominee River from this proposed metallic sulfide mine.
