  1. Got a lot of time on your hands, don'tcha?
  2. Salad, lasagna, rolls and cookies. Very good, and a fancy setting.
  3. Forest Preserves of Winnebago County (FPWC), recently known as WCFPD. I got invited to attend an volunteer appreciation dinner hosted by the FPWC on Thursday, Nov. 6th. My wife and I attended this dinner on behalf of the ISA and i was pleasantly surprised, and filled with pride, to hear all the good things Jamie Johannsen (FPWC Marketing) had to say about the involvement the ISA has taken with FPWC, and our future involvements and the building of our friendship. It was a very enjoyable evening with some damn good food. Look forward to doing more in the years to come with Winnebago County Forest Preserve.
  4. Hope everyone enjoys themselves and has a great time.
  5. That's what I need. Where do I get one?
  6. I saw the title of this post, and I thought maybe you had a mole or something growing on you that looked like a smallmouth. Clad everything is okay.
  7. Be sure to come out and check out the new store. You're not going to be doing nothing today anyways. It's not like you're going to be out fishing. I'll be there at 11am.

  9. Your good! I too have a couple Cortlands. We can be Cortland buddies. Welcome aboard! Nice job on the video.
  10. Ben, I think the sport of fly fishing is closed. Seems like I heard that if a person didn't have any fly fishing equipment by the cut off date of September 1, 2014, then they were out. The sport is growing too fast and these measures had to be implemented. Maybe look into taking up ice fishing. Sorry.
  11. I might make it. Not sure just yet. I got a medical thing (nothing serious) going on and am off work at the moment. Going to the doc right now. Will know more in a couple hours.
  12. I called the IEPA last year (2013) on a property owner doing the same thing on a creek I frequent. During this 2014 year when I returned to the area it was cleaned up. Get an address if you can and report it to the IEPA.
  13. Gosh-diggly-dang it, you guys! This is the kind of information that shouldn't be shared on the internet.
  14. I managed to make it to the show. Woke up around 7:30ish in the am and feeling much better. I made it to breakfast about a half an hour late but Jim and Brian didn't seem to mind waiting. Thanks guys! There was just the 3 of us. We got on the water about 10:30 and it was a picture perfect day. I ended the day with 11 smallmouth, 14 incher being my biggest. All my smallmouth were caught with a tube. Jim brought to hand something like 8 smallmouth with a 15 incher that tested his 6' custom fly rod he built himself. Brian felt it necessary to baptize himself in the Kish and then ended the day on 3 fish, I think it was 17.5 inch was his biggest and the biggest of the day. No Brutus today, but what a great day to spend on the river. These bald eagles are getting to be about as thick as the gooses. Love it. Wish I could get a pic of one. I hope Jim and Brian each had safe drives home. Brandy and myself are home. Pics of the day....
  15. I can't believe I'm doing this.... It's 2am. Saturday morning, Sept. 27th. and I feeling way the heck below the weather. Sicker than a dog I am. Not sure if I'm going to be able to do this thing. Jim S. and Josh know the river very well. so you guys should have no problems if I am unable to make it. I hope to be there, but the way I feel right now, it's not too likely. Good luck and enjoy. May Brutus grace the end of your line.
  16. I started doing the "upstream" paddle on the Kish about a year ago. My best outings this year have been while doing the upstream paddle. I'm fairly new to kayak fish so there is a lot I'm still learning. There are areas on the Kish that get too shallow to paddle up so at this point I quietly roll my big butt of the kayak, contect a strap from the nose of the kayak (about 10 feet long) to a clip on my vest, and begin to wade fish the area until I get into deeper paddling water. The foot on the bank or rocks is a good technique that I am still working on. My best advice I can share is to make mental notes of everything mention here and try each technique and figure out which works best for you. Good luck and have fun! Also.... When doing an upstream paddle, it's best to do it when you have no commitments to anything else that day and take your time like Eric said. Enjoy.
  17. Something like a week away now. You don't want to miss out on this.....
  18. Contact Terry to RSVP or for more info by way of PM here on the ISA site or at duckdodge62@yahoo.com
  19. September 27 - Autumn on the Kish Float. (Cherry Valley to Kish F.P.) (host Terry) Spouse appreciation day. That's right. Your spouse has put up with all your fishing crap throughout the year so now it's time to show your appreciation. With the Fall colors beginning to take over, a float down the Kishwaukee River this time of year is just about the best way to say thanks. We will meet at the Ojeda's Steakhouse & Bar at 8am. for some morning eats. We will then put-in at Baumann Park in Cherry Valley and float to Kishwaukee River F.P. Ojeda's Steakhouse & Bar (https://www.facebook...493003977481397)
  20. That looks crazy. At first I thought...."How have I missed this stretch all these years?" Thanks for the explanation. Nice pic by the way.
  21. It's all done and over with. Will post some pics and a full report after I rest. Where's Ed?
