  2. 7:00 pm I should have included that in the announcement. Driving up from Darien has never been a problem at that time in the past.
  3. Good, I hope that you will be able to make it there in only 8 days from now
  4. Absolutely right Frank, this is basically a recap of the Summer season and a kick off for the Winter season. You are also right about the great food and of course Tom is always a gracious host. This is one event that I would encourage everyone to attend if at all possible.
  5. Wednesday, October 18th at 7:00 pm we will again have a dinner meeting at Tom Loo's Thai Garden restaurant at 225 Golf rd. Schaumburg Il. This is always one of our more popular meetings of the year. It's only 10 days from today !
  6. Well done Craig. I regret that I was unable to hep out as I originally thought that I could but something came up at the last minute.
  7. To all my Jewish friends "May this New Year be filled with health and happiness, and sweet moments for you and your family. L’shanah Tovah!"
  8. "on the river at the Chicago Riverwalk kind of near Franklin and Wacker" is what they have said so far.

The Illinois Smallmouth Alliance will once again be at this year's Northern Illinois Hunting & Fishing Days celebration to be held on Saturday and Sunday, September 23 and 24, at Silver Springs State Park in Yorkville, IL. The hours are 9 am to 5 pm both days. It's a free event that focuses on outdoor activities for the entire family. The website www.NIHFD.org has a rundown of the types of activities that will be available for attendees to enjoy. The ISA is in need of several volunteers this year to help the kids in the casting area AND with the fly fishing demonstrations (both casting and tying). If you have a couple of hours or more on either day to spend some time with the future fishing generation, it would be much appreciated. Bring the family with you and enjoy the other activities as well. This is an excellent opportunity to acquaint the general public with the ISA and the work that it does to promote and enhance the sport of fishing. Reply to this posting with the dates/times you are available to assist. Indicate the activity (kids casting/fly fishing demos) that you would like to help with at those dates/times. You are welcome to rotate between the ISA sponsored activities if you desire to do so. If you have any questions, please post them here or send me an e-mail at cholde701@aol.com.
  10. You did a great job at the willow planting and it was my pleasure to meet you. I hope to see more of you at future events, as Terry says "Participation is key." I am happy to see that you joined and I just know that you will be glad that you did.
  11. Yeah Mike, there is a fully supplied kitchen there. It even has a dishwasher. What we did was to decide what we wanted to do for meals and then chip in and buy what we needed to buy in Marinette. What most guys brought up were snacks, eggs, coffee, lunchmeat, bread and of course alcoholic drinks to share.
  12. Yes it is a shame that you could not make it there. It would have been good to see you again, it has been a while.
  13. I M H O this turned out to be an absolutely fantastic picnic. 20 members, prospective members and guests turned out on a day of near perfect weather for our annual POT LUCK PICNIC. Even though the river was still too high for any fishing no one seemed to really mind. We had hot dogs, appetizers, hamburgers bratwurst, salads, baked beans, fresh corn, pie, cookies and cold pop. I don't believe anyone left feeling hungry. As good as the food was, I believe that the camaraderie was even better. My presonal thanks to everyone that participated and helped to make this such a successful event!
  14. it's 2morrow I gurarantee perfect weather
