See y'all friday
-
John, looked like an epic event. Excellent work! Thank you.

Indeed! A really fun time!!
Despite tough fishing conditions.
This was the first time I had fished the Kish. Although we came up dry on the float, the scenery was wonderful. Fall colors were just beginning. Lots of different kinds of birds. I could not get over how clear the Kish's waters are. Really cool. I definitely liked the kayak experience. Floating can allow for an easier elimination of bad water. Terry really knows his water and generously offered up his knowledge. Thanks for taking point on this outing. Nice pics too.

beautiful John!

Yes cmon! The Bears stink. The Hawks don't begin regular season play until the 20th. The Sox will be done. It can be quite the quality opportunity to bend your rod on a large Bronze Brutus!
-
Many more to come, Ed!

I will stay Friday and Saturday nights. I reserved a Kayak from him as well.
I spoke to Rocktown about renting a vessel. Thinking they may have better choices of craft. Would not livery one customer. Minimum of four.

Count me in!
-
Perhaps include the first Saturday of October? Should be good weather still.
-
I'm sure you could find vessel to use. If not I have a personal pontoon you're more than welcomed to use.
Much appreciated! This can be a great adventure! An ISA Armada!

Although I don't own a vessel, this is an outstanding idea!
Perhaps a short float to a campsite that offered good wade/shore fishing. This way the group can float fish to the campsite, make camp, meal, then an evening wade? Get some shut eye, break camp, float the remainder?
You are on to something here Mr. Dodge.

The Shedd Aquarium has a new program to help bring awareness to invasive species and to tell the difference from indigenous species.
It is mainly focused on the Great Lakes watershed, however reports may come from most anywhereA free smartphone app is the cornerstone for this program: Great Lakes Fish Finder. The app features a photo log that can be submitted to Shedd for help in determining which species had been found. which in turn may help combat the spread of invasives.Other features include, an interactive map and, a field guide for specie identification. My daughter, Jamie is interning at Shedd in their sustainability dept. The powers that be there asked, “How do we get this app in the hands of fisherman?” Jamie mentioned my ISA membership and had asked me to tell my ISA buddies to help bring more awareness to this. -

I will be there to help in any capacity??

I fished a bit at a small lake down state while visiting relatives. I used the fly rod. I noticed the action of the deceiver fly I used had a very similar action as the spybait in the video. Of course no spinners. I did have success, albeit they were all dinky largemouths with a couple pike to make things interesting.
Mark, I don't know why the vid had no sound. ??
You could dial it up directly on YouTube.

The new In-Fisherman has an article in it on pause presentations with stick baits. It mentioned "spy baiting" in this article. I am unfamiliar with this technique, so I looked it up and found many articles pertaining to it.
It is described as an "ultra-finesse" technique developed by bass anglers in Japan who fish highly pressured waters. Light line, long casts and a slow, slow, slow, retrieve are the mechanics. The bait being a weighted stick bait with small props. Highly effective in clear water.
These are just 2 articles which can get you started...
