Nice work with the deer hair.

I purchased it so long ago, but probably through Jstockard, as thats where I get most of my tying stuff. To be exact, it's 4.75", but could easily be bigger, I left a pretty short tail of fibers. I still cut the emulator flash a little bit after the flies finished, to give it a more tapered look, otherwise you have a nice tapered fiber tail, and then the palmered emulator is kind of squared off. Thats just me, you could very well leave it, and just let the water blend it all. Ryan

Thanks man! I will enjoy perusing the site.

Awesome bug! Where do you get baitfish emulator? It does not look like a 5" bug. A nice big target for the churned up waters in early spring. Looks like a simple version of the Barto Minnow.

Awesome looking bugs! That is a big offering, hold on tight!

I am interested in these. PM me.

Thank you gents! This winter I have put some time at the vice. Looking forward to putting time on the water! Don't sell yourself short, Ryan. Your bugs are awesome! Keep posting...
Creating pieces that imitate life definitely connects us to the natural world.

Tom L. And Ryan you are inspirations to me. I am new to flying and tying. I love when you post your creations! Thank you. Here are some of mine....
The blockheads I purchased from Brad Miller's site: www.flybass.biz
The Clouser pattern is Temple Dog hair. I found that at ChiFly on Clybourn ave in Chicago. It's alot like fox body fur, very "poofy" and soft.
I hope we can share a strech of river some time.

Nice tie! Just checked out FTD site, very cool, thanks for the tip. Ha, my dumb ass thought you were talking about the florist...

Awesome flies! I will have these in the box this season for sure. Nice work, thank you for the recipe.

Dudes! I'm a new ISA member and I would love to attend this event! I'll keep watching the forums for updates.

As an angler who has just begun a fly fishing endeavor, that video was on point! Getting out on the water and whipping around that fly rod and trying to loop that cast just in the right spot is just as fun as getting bit and hooking up a nice fish.
Thanks for posting.

The tube fly looks like a killer! I too have found those sculpin helmets open the doors to some great patterns. C'mon warm weather, right on!
