Nice work!
Love the use of hair brush parts for eyes.
Have you been able to fish them? I imagine they will sink nearly horizontally as the rubber legs may balance out the weighted eyes. ?? -

Look forward to coming!

Thanks.
I made a tool like this
https://www.hookandbullet.com/gear/fly-fishing-leaders-tippets/frog-hair-blood-knot-tool/
It makes the whole thing a lot neater and wearier. But overall I think that 40-30lb connection and the next one is way too big.
I am going to experiment with this stuff and a smaller knot.

It's like 30lb test- how freaking strong a knot do you really need!!??
Good stuff! Thanks

Good stuff. I’ve been having issues with blood knots of late. For me it’s failing eyes. I’m going to have to expand my knot repertoire.
That sounds like an awful condition for you Mark. I hope you can find some relief for it.
-
Cmon Rich! You are so great at creating a fly that will hunt. They are not “lifelike” yet seem alive 👍🏻
-
Knot tying is a skill. Take time to be precise, just as we do while tying our favorite patterns. Perfect practice makes perfect 😎
Go to globalflyfisher.com. There are many leader formulas to choose from.

Good things do come to those who wait.

I can’t say anything more than what has already been said here. I’ve never had the pleasure of sharing the water with Mr Ron, but had some nice conversation at some of our events.
Life is truly too short. I resolve to reach out to our membership to share time on the water.
Godspeed RonK

Nice looking foam bug, Terry. I hope it will hunt up a Brutus for ya

That is terrific customer service!!
Glad the out come went your way?????

Indeed!

I don't think it will be fishable on Saturday, and with the forecast, next Saturday may be iffy. I'd say push it out two weeks and keep your fingers crossed.
Jim...we just figure it all out at breakfast: drop the boats off at Baumann and run a couple of vehicles to the take out.
Thanks Jude!
I'll keep an eye on it. Whenever you guys decide

I would like to join in on this event.
How is put in/take out handled?

Ray Raynor was like my Good Morning America while I was growing up on the north side of Chicago.
RW = red/white. Rodger that!
It was a fun tie. There where step by step instructions in the magazine. I had most materials. Some I made do.
-
Nice ties, Jim. I prefer simple and less materials flies also.
The blacks and the whites look like good steelhead flies. The run is in full swing, Jim.
Never thought of those for Steelhead. I figured them for warm water species.
I am going to get up there to try again, Tom!

I like the RWs. Might just be me. How do they produce for you?
Jim, on the r/w it looks like you tie in a zonker strip in front of the eye and maybe one behind. Does this make the fly ride hook point down? It is a very cool looking fly.
forgive me fellas but what is RW?
I have not fished these patterns. Just getting a little creative. The complex ones with the zonkers are from Fly Tyer mag spring '17 issue. It's called a "white demon". I'll let you know if they hunt.
Sadly my version looks like Ray Raynor's version! (I've just aged myself).
The others are an interpretation of Tim Holshlag"s patterns.
Thanks

Ha! Three Blind Mice, Rat Patrol, Combat...
This is a great fishing show!!
Perhaps a dusting of a clear varnish or shellac (sp) will repel more water?
Nice tie, man.
Careful in the high water
