Jim Kast Posted March 2, 2011 Report Posted March 2, 2011 Can you cast all the way to the creek from your yard? Nice set up! Quote
Jonn Graham Posted March 2, 2011 Author Report Posted March 2, 2011 Actually, Jim, I am almost can. About 200 yards from where those pictures were taken is a small creek. Quote
Jim Kast Posted March 2, 2011 Report Posted March 2, 2011 I remember you showing me that creek. A small cannon should do the trick. Quote
Terry Dodge Posted March 2, 2011 Report Posted March 2, 2011 I do stuff like that in my yard also. Ever wonder what people driving by think when they see you in your boat, casting into your yard? Well if they think it's odd..... I feel sorry for them. Hail to the smallie! Quote
Fredmo Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Look forward to talking to you about the new yak after you've had it in the water. It sure looks great on the Jackson videos. Wish it listed about 30 lbs lighter. What's that strange stick you have in your hand in the pic of you standing on the Coosa? Several other pagan sticks seem to be placed in the other photos, as well. Do we need to have some kind of intervention to rid it of those short little sticks? Quote
Guest rich mc Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 having a bunch of dogs i have to ask . in the first photo is that a red retracktable dog lead? whats it used for? rich Quote
Jonn Graham Posted March 3, 2011 Author Report Posted March 3, 2011 The dog leash is going to be my anchor line. I am going to try it! Drew Gregory (the guy who designed the boat) uses the dog leash set-up for his anchor. The Coosa comes with eye bolts installed to run your anchor line through. Quote
Jim J Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Freddie.... Those are a new invention since the days of Sir Isaac Newton. They are designed as an upgrade to catch more fish. Quote
Jonn Graham Posted March 3, 2011 Author Report Posted March 3, 2011 Fred: When those pictures were taken, I was in a hurry to get some photos before darkness set in. I did not have any fly rods put together, so I just grabbed some "beginner's rods" Quote
ronk Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Jonn Your daughter's a cutie. In a few more years keeping the boys at bay is gonna cut into your fishing time. Quote
Jonn Graham Posted March 3, 2011 Author Report Posted March 3, 2011 Yah, I think you are right about that, Ron. She is in third grade and already talks about boys...............I wear ear plugs. Quote
ronk Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Yah, I think you are right about that, Ron. She is in third grade and already talks about boys...............I wear ear plugs. Maybe you can turn her thoughts in another direction by teaching her to flyfish/tie.If so make sure you keep her away from Joz. Quote
Jonn Graham Posted March 3, 2011 Author Report Posted March 3, 2011 Actually, she has shown an interest in tying jigs and flies. She normally wants me to help her tie a fly when i am right in the middle of trying to get a jig order out the door. She shows very little interest in the fishing part......though she does want her very own kayak so she can paddle with dad and brother. Quote
Mike G Posted March 3, 2011 Report Posted March 3, 2011 Cool ride, Dude! I never thought I would say that about a Yak that costs so much, but it really looks like value for the $$. Quote
Fredmo Posted March 4, 2011 Report Posted March 4, 2011 Native Ultimate 12 Kayak $1650 But can you jump up and do a 360 in it? For that matter, can you do that on dry land? Quote
