JOHN SCHENCK Posted August 31, 2020 Report Posted August 31, 2020 Has anyone on here kayaked or boated to these falls. I’m looking for a place to launch paddle up to the falls and then float back down or any put in take out info. Thanks in advance. Quote
Paul Trybul Posted August 31, 2020 Report Posted August 31, 2020 Does this help? It looks like a decent portage any way you look at it. Quote
Scott Ferguson Posted August 31, 2020 Report Posted August 31, 2020 There is a second set of falls, the lower falls, You can put a kayak in there, but I doubt you could kayak up and over the falls to the upper falls. The first picture is looking upstream toward the lower falls, the second is a closeup of the lower falls. I don’t think there is any road access to the river between the upper and lower falls. Quote
Kev-mo Posted September 1, 2020 Report Posted September 1, 2020 thanks for the memory jog Scott. we took a family trip there when i was a teeneager and we swam below the falls and i think we even body surfed over them Quote
Dick G Posted September 1, 2020 Report Posted September 1, 2020 Once you get above the lower falls, you would have to carry kayak down several stairs to get to the water. First picture is looking upstream from lower falls , [see Scott's picture]. Second pictures is the way to get down to calmer water below upper falls. The last picture is looking at the water you would be kayaking, taken from the upper falls. Maybe not the best place to kayak . Quote

We may just kayak below the lower falls then if it works out. Quote
