Though I am already signed up to work the booth, I want to add that this is a great show to go to even if you cannot work the booth. Because it is run by community volunteers as a fund raiser, it gets away from the heavy handed commercialism of other OD shows. And besides, ISA, rich, and Bob all in one show...

I can work both Saturday and Sunday - I live about a mile away from the show site: Wodstock North High School. My preference is to help set-up and work Saturday morning 9-12. I can also help Sunday afternoon: 1-5pm and assist with taking the booth down.

By the way, I'll be picking up Girl Scout cookies for my wife's troop Saturday afternoon. They always have a few extra boxes available for sale. Maybe I'll bring some by the booth late Saturday or Sunday.

And there's more! Bob, Spence, and rich all in the same place for the first time in the 21st Century. Don't miss this rare alignment of the stars.

Attended the Woodstock Expo for the first time today. It seemed like a good show. I like the format and the overall atmosphere was nice. I was told last year they had more vendors. I liked the fly fishing aspect. It seemed like there were DRiFT guys everywhere. I helped out at the Paddle and Trail booth for a few hours. Then I got a real treat when I was able to get together with Bob Clouser and a dozen or so other guys to tie some flies and have some beer and pizza. Bob was a very good teacher and shared several entertaining stories. Definately an experience I'll never forget. He showed us the right way to tie the clouser minnow and an awesome musky fly that he created with Lefty Kreh. It was basically a combination of the clouser and deceiver. A very large yet extremely light weight fly. Very cool.

It was good seeing you there Tim. Paddle and Trail, ISA, and rich's flies made a one, two, three punch in the same aisle. But I agree that there were fewer exhibitors and a smaller crowd than last year. We had to squeeze the turnip hard to get three new members and one renewal at the ISA booth. I even had to tell my story about watching the Chicago Cardinals at Soldier Field when it was their home field arounf 1960.

So now you know the right way to tie a Clouser and you can show us at the next Tye-in, right? That Muskie flie looks like a 1/2 and 1/2 kinda like the one they tie here.

Anyway, you can show us that one too, right?

Mike, it was a half and half aka The Terminator. Half Clouser and Half Kreh. He didn't use any feathers. Instead he used some big fly hair. Bob wanted to point out Lefty is in the rear... Ha! Funny guy. You can buy the musky/pike fly http://www.clouserflyfishing.com/bigfiteclhaa.html

Not sure I will be showing anyone how to tie any flies anytime soon. That's what you, Rich, and Jude are for. I'm just a student not a teacher.

Back to the show. Here's Bill K chatting them up.

At his booth rich introduced his second generation worm. He applies floatant to it to make it stand up.

Another thing I got at the show was the latest flu. I am coming back after two days of fever and chills.

I fixed the pictures in the previous post. Since I am here, I have a thought for Tim.

I will give you a temporary pass, grasshopper. But let this be advanced notice for you to get ready to step up. Rich is getting old
