  1. Nice. That one alone makes it worth the annual dues.
  2. I Just got mine today, Craig. You scored well with 3 of yours in there. Remember us when. Rubberbands?
  3. As I told Rich, I can help on the Blowout day though I cannot stay past 3:00. I am in for one day. I can help on any of the other days with the same time limit.
  4. Dr. Mike, "Figure eight" is something I think I understand. "Lashing" escapes me at this moment though it may be evident to others. Can you come back on "lashing?"
  5. Mark, The Ohio site is most excellent. Everyone should explore the riches there including the article about Rich's chenille creations. But, in regard to the kink shank hooks, I think there is a better way. I follow Craig's lead. A while back I spemt a lot of time wondering if the use of the "double kink" shank hooks was the way to go. Then I saw the light or was brought to the light, whatever. In hooks for Clousers. the 60 deg Eagle Claw 410 or 413 or the 28 deg Mustad BLN is the way to go. Ideally you combine it with Craig's ringer tied on version 2.0. Craig's message already says what I would have said about that. You should demand some more information if this is not clear. Because some of us have been in the thick of it, we may be assuming that "everybody knows."
  6. Here's an interesting foam guard. More details are on bouncerflies.com
  7. Gentlemen, As the Mike, that Craig mentions, I think I am on the right track, no? Next, there are lots of ways to keep weeds off the hook, no? A picture is worth 1000 words, as they say, no? I think I have understood the verbal discriptions the contributors have made. I would like a picture to confirm it. But that is just my opinion.
  8. I do a lot of single mono weed guards. A while back, after watching that same video, I did a fly with a double guard as shown in the video. The double guard eliminates the problem of centering the guard over the hook point. Maybe it protects better. Because I was concerned that double 20# would be too stiff I used 12# so that I got 24# (12+12) equivalent. I was planning to do this more this year and try some light stainless wire that I have had for a long time. As for how that double guard works, you would have to ask Rich since I gave the fly to him. I guess you always give up something in hookups with a weed guard. But it is a tradeoff you have to make in snaggy weedy waters.
  9. I have some Pig Boats, but they aren't the right color. Maybe next year...

Since Mike did not throw up another one: Maybe only Jonn knows for sure who this is.
  11. Steve, S’il vous plaît. share the pattern with us some time.
  12. Gettin' more serious here, I call dibs on the Chicago Clouser set. By luck I can do it. Black, red, and white are bucktail staples. A bucktail assortment I got from Cabela's a while back includes the navy blue(Bears), orange (Bears), royal blue (Cubs), and grey (Sox silver) necessary to fill the bill. Here are the specs I will work to unless I hear different. da Bears- Navy/Orange Blackhawks- Black/Red/White Cubs- Blue/White/Red White Sox- Black/Silver Bulls- Black/Red Though I was hoping I could do Fodders, I found that my materials would not support it. Maybe Craig's would? To display the product reasonably, we need a sheet or card with logos. PMail logos to me or Mike Clifford. When this is all done, Mike Clifford<, where should I send them (PM preferred).
  13. Mike, Nice intro to the topic. I am surprised that there are still not takers. However, a bucket list is a serious challenge since each item is preceded by the words, "before I die, I want to ______," You have made it easier with some questions: "Starting modestly with just this year, do you intend to: Change the World? Write a Book? Fish More? Share the Outdoors With Your Kids More Often? Work Harder Towards Conservation?" Can I do this immodestly by naming a few things that may take 5 or 10 years assuming I live that long?
  14. 'Laissez les bon temps rouler' I hesitated about using a spinner bait trailer for a tail but then I thought, if I could use spinnerbait skirt material for a tail what is wrong with using a trailer.
  15. Mike, Where da Bears? A simple approach would be bucktail Clousers. Still that Navy blue is a hard color to come by. I will have to check my supplies.
  16. I prefer Bob Long Jr's approach to identifying river bass locations. The In-Fisherman categories are very descriptive. But Bob's are a better guides to finding where in the riffle, where in the run, and where in the pool.
  17. The Whodat Nation eats bullfrawgs. That's a fact.
  18. Craig, Around here that is called fluries. It aint a coincidence. You messed with Rich, and see what happened. Now it is nice to see Rich seems willing to call it off. I would say you should limit the hex to 10 inches, Rich.
  19. IMHO,they'll get one when they win the Super Bowl!
  20. Especially one from Southern Indiana!
  21. Getting some of Terry Dodge's flashy gold stuff in a swap inspired me. Here's my entry in the unofficial Super Bowl fly contest. Anyone else have an entry?
  22. rich, What is John's address? Also don't miss the photo op before you do the raffle. As someone else suggested, the top 10 or so should be featured in Bass Bugger Submissions along with the pattern (recipe).
