John, I would love to be there but our church is doing a Mission trip to Fairdale that day. I will keep an eye out for the next one!

As usual, my dad is being difficult by not giving me any ideas for fathers day. He lives down in KY on the Ohio River and they have been wearing out the Striped Bass. I want to tie him some Striper sized bucktail jigs. Does anyone have recipes for these?
Thanks!

Anyone have one of these that is collecting dust that you might want to sell?

Here is the way to go. I just got back from the Smokies. Everyone and their brother down there wears these.

I received a pair of Simms G3 waders and boots for Christmas (My inlaws are awesome!). I've only worn them out a couple times but like them much better than the Cabelas pair I had prior.

Rich, I have been busy with work and have not sorted through them yet. I will post a pic when I get into them!

I only need wing feathers! Let me know if you all get any of those. Thanks!

So, does anyone have any feathers?!?!?!?!

Hi everyone. I was hoping that with the upcoming dove season, that someone may be able to save me a bunch of dove feathers? There is an old fly called the Yallarhammer that I want to tie. See the link:

I am considering buying a good quality cooler. I don't need anything too big. I was wondering if any of you own a Yeti or Engel? Anyone own both? Which would you suggest and why?
Thanks!

Ronk, that is the plan! I was looking to see if anyone on here had been down there....

Hi guys and gals! I was wondering if any of you had been down to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and happened to go on a fishing trip while there? I am headed down in November and would like to take a fishing trip while my wife goes to the spa one day. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

When you are in there notice the one dollar bill taped to the side of the cash register. I made the first ever purchase at the new fly shop yesterday! Very happy to have these guys out in the burbs.

Now that we have a couple swaps under our belts, I would like to see if we could pick up enough people to do a dozen flies. 13 people, everyone ties 12 flies, and you don't get one back. Just my 2 cents. The flies we have gotten are insanely nicely tied, and it costs the same to mail a dozen as it does 10... We should also let folks know that beginners are welcome too because what better way to challenge yourself than to crank out a dozen of your very best work? Tying for others will force you to take your time and most of the time that translates into a better product. Rich, this is your swap so what say ye?

Rich, how many swappers? I will play.... Bunny Leech...small....Size 6 or 8 on a 3xlong hook maybe? Too small? You tell me...

Rich, I am going to have to pass on this one. I don't even know where my spinning rod is anymore!

I dropped these off at the post office in Yorkville IL around 2pm yesterday. I chose Yorkville instead of Oswego because it is a larger post office and I figured they had a better chance of getting on their way back to you guys.

Alright guys, I finally have a couple minutes to post here the pics that I took during/after sorting the flies.
During the sort!
A nice little group shot!
Thanks again each of you for being on time with the flies. That makes life alot better for all of us. Also, a special thanks to those of you who sent extra materials and/or extra flies. I can assure you these will be used. I will be dropping the flies off at the post office before they close today. I would assume those of you who are closer to me will see these no later than Thursday, others probably by Friday/Saturday. Please let me know when you get your flies. I will then put "Got 'em" next to your name on the first post.

Good news gentlemen! With the arrival of Colt's Flies today I am happy to tell you that all sets of flies made it to my house by the deadline! I have toe tagged a couple sets that did not arrive tagged and I will work on sorting them out this evening. My plans are to have them in the mail back to you no later than Wednesday, but hopefully I can make it to the post office tomorrow afternoon. I will also post a group shot here in a little while. I can't wait to toss these flies!
One very happy swapmiester...

I have on order a Richardson Chest Fly Box. I ordered it last September. I hope to have it by this September! These boxes are hand made, one by one, by one guy, in his shed out behind his house.... Good things come to those who wait! I am really looking forward to getting it!

I might stop in, but I am gearing up for a trip to GSMNP in TN in October. I will likely just tie trout flies... Smoky Mountain trout love orange stimulators that time of year....
