  1. Even my wife thought this was moderately funny.
  2. I'd take you up on your offer, Ed, but I promised my wife we would buy a two-person canoe in the spring. We did some float trips last summer and found a nice balance between her love for the outdoors and my river smallmouth addiction.
  3. A few years ago I bit the bullet and bought a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses cut with my prescription. I paid a fortune but was assured they were the best glasses available. After only two years they've devoloped "pressure cracks" and are about to break completely. I brought them back to the store where I purchased them but it looks like I'll need to buy new lenses and dish out several hundred more. Do affordable prescription sunglasses exist? I've looked everywhere with no success. Suggestions?
  4. Thank you Ed and all who made the picnic such a great event. The afternoon bite was slow but I had a blast wading south with Eugene, Spiz, Mark, and Brian. Good humor among rabid smallie fishermen, a beautiful stretch of river on a perfect August afternoon; it doesn't get much better in my book.
  5. I, too, had a terrific time at the planting. It's always great to see friends I've made during the few years I've been a member and I always enjoy meeting newer members. The ISA really is a terrific organization.
  6. I'll be there Tim. Is anyone planning on fishing before the planting or only after??
  7. Good information. I had no idea.
  8. I still plan to fish the area where we were going to plant if anyone would like to join me. Should be there around 6:00. AM
  9. Sorry and sad that I couldn't make the event guys; graduation party for my nephew. Next year for sure.
  10. Jim, did Eugene really catch 8??? And yes, there are pictures. If we don't hit the Kank within the next 30 days I plan to post them one at a time...
  11. Hey Tim, thanks again for coordinating a fun event. Eugene, I enjoyed fishing and getting punctured by buckthorn with you. Jim, it was great meeting you and I look forward to hitting the Kank with you.
  12. Thanks for posting this Ed. I've been lipping bass for years and hope I haven't caused too many injuries or worse.. I'm sure Eugene will be happy you got this out - he's militant about this!
  13. I've found that with the rivers so low it's almost a given that I have to fish small lures/swim baits shallow. Otherwise I'm constantly dragging weeds and debris which gets old fast.
  14. Sorry for your loss Eugene. Give me a call if you'd like to get out again. 630-606-9690
  15. Very interesting and informative. Thanks for posting this!!
  16. Had a great time at my first ISA outing. It was great meeting and fishing with some terrific people. I got lost trying to find the Culvers and ended up in St. Charles. I waded there for a few hours and picked up 4 - a 14 in. and 3 smaller. Decided to try my favorite spot in Geneva later in the afternoon and ran into Pat and Corey. Tough fishing but great weather and company. Look forward to fishing with you again John.
