skappel1
As the boating season winds down for me next weekend, I am starting to think of river fishing again. I know the float and fly is a great presentation but what other lures are useful in the cold water period. I use jerk baits a lot in spring so I am assuming they will come into play as well. How about crankbaits, plastics, spinner baits and swim jigs? The rivers that I will be targeting are in the northern Illinois area like the Fox, DuPage, Rock, Kishwaukee and I think I would like to try the Pecatonica as well. Thanks for your help. ryne
iv been having luck on a baby yum craw bug on a jig head, or a BPS leech on a drop shot. Last week the Standin' Yabby was the go to bait.
