Scott Ferguson Posted February 1, 2011 Report Posted February 1, 2011 The Lake Shabbona Rockfest happens this Saturday at 8:30 am. Volunteers will strategically drop 3 truckloads of rock into Lake Shabbona to create structure for fish habitat. The ISA, DRiFT, and the Shabbona Lake Sportsman's Club each donated for this event. Dod Dziedzina, outdoor writer for the Chicago Tribune, featured the event in his column in Tuesday's Tribune. Call Rich McElligott @ 815-824-2523 for more information. Quote
Guest rich mc Posted February 1, 2011 Report Posted February 1, 2011 even with the snow it will go on. we may place the rock all on the west shoreline area that would only be 100ft off shore.rocks are right there now on shore. atvs and the bobcat can clear out the snow and make us room . rich Quote
Mike Clifford Posted February 1, 2011 Report Posted February 1, 2011 Please ask someone with a digital camera to get around 25 seconds of video for me. Thanks guys! This project creates critical habitat for smallmouth bass and their prey. Outstanding work on your part every year, Rich. Quote
