The Lake Shabbona Rockfest happens this Saturday at 8:30 am. Volunteers will strategically drop 3 truckloads of rock into Lake Shabbona to create structure for fish habitat. The ISA, DRiFT, and the Shabbona Lake Sportsman's Club each donated for this event.

Dod Dziedzina, outdoor writer for the Chicago Tribune, featured the event in his column in Tuesday's Tribune.

even with the snow it will go on. we may place the rock all on the west shoreline area that would only be 100ft off shore.rocks are right there now on shore. atvs and the bobcat can clear out the snow and make us room . rich

Please ask someone with a digital camera to get around 25 seconds of video for me.

Thanks guys!

This project creates critical habitat for smallmouth bass and their prey.

Outstanding work on your part every year, Rich.

I plan to make it in the morning and I'll be able to bring my video camera. I have to leave though by 11:00 at the latest.
