Corey Steffen
Another one of those really sad stories. https://www.25newsnow.com/2024/04/02/state-agencies-investigating-large-fish-kill-livingston-co-creek/ Rooks Creek starts not far from my home and eventually empties into the Vermilion River, near one of my favorite stretches to fish. This story is new so more details will be coming, but sounds like a major blow to that smallmouth fishery. 😢
Paul Trybul
It's sad that these things still happen. Based on the time of year and large amounts of recent rains, I'm guessing its some kind of chemical run off. Hopefully they can mitigate the damage and not continue all the way down the Vermillion. Terry Dodge
Sorry to hear that, Corey. That really sucks. I agree with Paul on the run-off, makes me wonder if a farmer recently sprayed manure on his fields?
