John Loebach
We will plant this next Saturday in Batavia downtown. Meet at parking lot on Rte. 25 by the skate park south of Wilson. Planting 400+ we should do well with 10 or 12 volunteers. Bring waders & gloves the rock bar upstream of the large island is 30' or so from the end of the park. We should finish by 11 am & go get some lunch. Please post or contact me if you are coming. Its been a couple years since we have planted the Fox & I'm looking forward to it. rich mc
was the water rising as you were planting from the early am rain. ?
Bart Durham
The river seemed to be rising but it was so low that it really didn't impact us. The rain and lighting on the other hand, forced us to seek refuge in the island shelter to let the storm pass. The early morning rainy overcast skies kept the temperature in reasonable range giving us some respite from the blazing sun and high humidity. We were able to plant several racks of water willow seedlings around the Batavia Fox River island. Thank you to the 9 ISA members and Alexandria of the Batavia Environmental Agency, for volunteering your time and efforts in helping out with the planting. After the planting we were able to meet up at Briana's in Batavia for a well earned meal that was delicious topping off a great morning.. John Loebach
Thanks Bart & Eugene for the pics. A huge shout out to the 9 who put 400 plants in the ground. It felt so good to do something normal & the rain delay made for a nice time to catch up.
