Hey all! My name is Dan. I currently live in the NW area of Chicago, but I am originally from Iowa. I learned to fly fish while living in California, and since recently moving to Chicago I've really enjoyed learning the area. My personal favorite has been the Kankakee River State Park area, and it's been an absolute blast learning to fish for Smallmouth on the fly. My goal this year is to continue to explore the great waters this area has to offer. I was pretty excited to find this group online, and I'm looking forward to future meetings and hopefully meeting some of you.

Welcome. Tons of fun to be had on the fly around here, especially if you like throwing meaty flys for bass and pike. We get some lake run trout and the driftless in SW Wisco  is great for spring creek trout. Lots of options but the river smallmouth reigns supreme!

Thanks Ben! I've done a good amount of SW Wisconsin Trout fishing. My parents live in the area, so I'm lucky there. But I agree, I'm quickly falling for the smallies!
