Hey everyone,

New member here. Wanted to say hello. I currently live in Chicago and spent most of my life in the south suburbs fishing for bass in ponds, quarries, and the Des Plaines and its backwaters. I also spend a lot of time in Wisconsin fishing lakes and rivers across the state. This year I have started transitioning from conventional tackle to fly fishing. In addition to fly fishing, I am trying to learn more about Illinois' smallmouth population and improving the conservation and habitat for these beautiful fish in our state.

With my fly rod in hand (and novice casting ability), I have spent most of this summer and fall exploring the Lakefront, Fox, Dupage, and the creeks across the greater Chicagoland area trying to learn the smallmouth waters that I have spent years overlooking. So I am excited to join the Illinois Smallmouth Alliance!

Thanks for the welcome. Exploring and finding new spots is half the reward! Look forward to learning from the other fly fisherman in the club. Its been a lot of fun but challenging to learn. Maybe I will see you out there!

Welcome aboard the Bronzeback Express! Looking forward already to get out next season already. I am hoping the COVID crap will be concluded and we can set up some events this coming year.

Thanks for the response. I'm hopeful to get out 1 or 2 more times this year (if my legs aren't too cold) to check out some new spots. Let's hope its over in 2021. Looking forward to meeting you all.
