Pot Luck Picnic

It's time for our annual Pot Luck Picnicat the picnic shelter in the Glenwood Forest Preserve in Batavia on Saturday, August  1st.  After beimg shut down for most of the Summer I believe that it' about time for a social gathering with our friends in the I S A.

As always we will provide  the main course, hot dogs and burgers and encourage but not require everyone to bring a dish to share. Lunch will begin at noon but come early should you want to do a little fishing in the Fox river beforehand.

Even though this is one of my favorite ISA events, I don’t think I’m comfortable hanging out in a group of people yet so I’m going to have to miss this one.

I'll come & grill. We should be good by current recommendation for size & type of gathering. I'm sure our group will be cautious which is good. We'll know more in a few weeks.

we feel it is about time to begin to resume a little social gathering in the I S A. If you are uncomfortable with that please do not attend. We will be outdoors with plenty of room for social distancing. At this time things seem to be improving with the pandemic. Should that change or if there is not enough interest we will cancel by Saturday, July 25th.

If you plan on attending please respond here so we know how many to plan for or if there is not enough interest to proceed. I don't know about any of you but I am ready for some of that I S A comeradery

I plan to go. On Call that weekend so if I’m not called out I will be there. For a dish, may I bring chips? Like those individual wrapped  snack size variety bags.

We just heard from the Kane County Forest Preserves that our permit is still good for our use of the shelter on August 1st

The Pot Luck Picnic will go on as planned.We will apparently have a smaller number of people and we will be outdoors with plenty of room for social distancing so there should  be little reason for concern. Be sure to bring a face mask and if you can also bring a lawn chair so that we can comfortably spread out if necessary

 The weather looks to be perfect and we believe that we are all ready for some of that I S A camaraderie at this time

 

Kane county has advised us that there may not be electric available at the shelter

I'll give it a go.... we're eating via curbside pickup so, alas, I won't be able to get a dish in time.  I will bring some comradery though
