Mark K
The guy who caught this fish is buddies with my nephew. I met him a few times, very nice guy and totally a hard core fisherman. Pretty cool story here. Congrats Ryan! http://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/illinois-smallmouth-bass-record-in-lake-michigan-for-the-chase/

Eric
Good guy. Very concerned about the fish's well being and the release. Congrats to him!
Frank Briggs
That was a fantastic fish great job. It states in article that he held that fish for about an hour waiting game for the scale! My question is how much stress did that fish go thru! Just looking to see what others think about the effects of the hour the fish was held before being released.
Mark K
Somewhere between a fish in a live well for an hour and readers subjected to to a complete failure fisherman/writer turned troll.
Eric
Frank, he was holding the fish in the water the entire time while waiting for the certified scale. It was weighed and measured and released after a few pics. IMHO the article emphasizes the care he took to ensure it was documented and then swam off. ronk
What I thought about while looking at that fish is what the world record that weighed almost twice as much must've looked like. I can'i imagine a smallie that bg
Joe R
Wow what a beautiful tank! I fish those tightropes I usually buy several at the schaumburg fishing show every year. Nice when you want to fish a smaller jig with a smaller trailer. Nice kid he gave me some trailers and shown me some tanks he caught on NBK nov/dec fishing those jigs slowly...
